We had 9 people for a business lunch. This was my 4th time here. The service was great. Our server was on point, drinks would only get to about to 1/4 full before he was there asking about refills. We got 3 appetizers. Calamari, Chili Pop Shrimp, and Memphis BBQ wings. Somewhat disappointing. The calamari was very over-cooked, to the point the tentacles were burnt on the ends, the flavor was not good, and the texture was rubbery. The shrimp were also overcooked and chewy, but the flavor was very good. The flavor of the wings was very good, but could have been cooked lower and slower as the skin was somewhat rubbery. My previous 3 visits here consisted of me only getting the Seared Tuna Wrap. The tuna quality was up and down, my first wrap was incredible, the second and 3rd were very good, but the tuna had a slight fishy taste I did not get in the first one. This time I decided to try something different. I ordered the Nashville Hot Fried Chicken Breast. I make it at home from a family recipe, and I order it out a lot. What a disappointment. The flavor was pretty far off from what I am used to. It wasn't terrible at all, it just wasn't what I was used to growing up with the majority of my family from the Appalachia area. The breast was overcooked to the point of burnt on the ends and with no sweetness to counteract the heat and spiciness of the abundance of spices, just a hot mess of seasoning thrown together. The sauce they serve on the side has some sweetness and was absolutely delicious, but unfortunately the bun they use does not allow you to use it since the bun does not hold up to the moisture of the NHS they use on the chicken. My second bite had the bottom of the bun turning into a moist play-doh like consistency, making the bottom bun inedible. They also put the lettuce and tomato on the bottom of the bun, which makes the lettuce slimy and the tomato disintegrate, making them somewhat gross to eat, as far as I'm concerned.
This has been my complete experience thus far. Would I go back? Only for the Seared Tuna Wrap, and only if my company or a vendor are paying for it ( the rest of the menu is "bland" AFAIK) The prices are pretty good on MOST items. If you get a burger with cheese, Mushrooms, onions, and bacon, expect to pay a whopping $20 ( $12 burger and $2 for each topping. Think about that......$2 slice of cheese......It's an above average burger fro what others who have had it say, but the cheese slice is not worth $2)
All in all, the food is a solid 5 out of 10, and the restaurant tried to be high end with their pricing, but low to medium end with quality and consistency. You won't be disappointed if you eat here, but you won't be telling all of your friends...
Ā Ā Ā Read more2022: I have wanting to stop by this place for months and finally today I did! The place looks and smells clean š The atmosphere is very relaxing and the lighting is dim which is my style. The drink I ordered was great! I ordered take out and it was very delicious.
2023: This is still one of my regular places, however, I did not frequent it for awhile as one of the staff members is extremely racist, etc. to say the least. If I do see this behavior again, I will report it to corporate; a few other patrons told me about their witnessing and experiencing this as well regarding this particular staff member. The comments were not directed to me, but they were unacceptable; if I were a manager at a restaurant and heard my employee talk like that, they would be fired on the spot. I contemplated never going back here, but I will just leave if that person is there and go to another place. Now that that is out of the way lol, let me continue...
Service here all depends on who you get, it varies SIGNIFICANTLY. Some of the staff are very friendly, VERY responsive and go above and beyond in their duties; then, there are a couple that do the bare minimum; and then, there are a couple who should be working in another profession - they are not friendly, they will not come to your table to check in with you, and if they do, it will be likely just once if you are there for an hour. Most of the time you will get waited on quickly, however, there was one time I waited 20 MINUTES for my waitstaff to come to my table! I got my water delivered in about 5 to 10 minutes - it was not busy at all, probably about at 20% capacity at most.
The food is average I would say and I think they have different chefs so one time it may be excellent, another time it may be just alright; but, I have never had BAD food there. And, if you like carrot cake, it is the best I have ever had in any establishment, by far. LOL, I just wish it was calorie friendly.
I dropped a star due to the inconsistency with waitstaff and the staff member who should not be working in a public establishment imo unless he can control his words he speaks while in a workplace...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe've been at George Martin's Grillfire 40+ times and love it here! Beautiful, cozy yet large space perfect for dinner with friends or a nice date night. Food is consistent, staff are polite and knowledgeable. They used to bring a free bread appetizer with dipping sauce but that was a few years ago. Water is served in a glass bottle and it's always cold and refreshing. Restaurant and restrooms are very clean, and the televisions at the bar are not super loud.
My only complaint is the issue for vegetarians. Although the brussel sprouts appetizer is INCREDIBLE (seriously, everyone needs to try them at least once with the red pepper aoili on the side, you're welcome!), and the cobb salad can easily be made vegetarian by requesting no bacon - this restaurant could greatly benefit from the addition of a simple veggie burger (Beyond, Impossible, Morningstar black bean for example). I'm a grown woman who awkwardly requests the grilled cheese and French fries, which is always an issue for staff because they state the manager will "yell" at them for serving an adult a children's menu item. I would LOVE to be able to order a veggie burger with French fries and the brussel sprouts appetizer. Please add a vegetarian option like this! Plus, it's sad to hear staff so uncomfortable with management over a grilled cheese. Adding additional options could avoid staff hiding these things from management (who I believe is a fairly short, dark-haired woman who typically seats guests from what several servers have said.)
For meat eaters, you'll be pleased with the burgers, steaks, fish and chips, and lobster mac and cheese (my fella's personal favorite). Vegetarians can choose salad and they have a Flatbread pizza that was okay, not my #1 choice but it's fine in a pinch.
Again, gorgeous decor in a dim, romantic setting with fantastic service team members, but the lack of vegetarian options is a slight bummer. Parking has never been an issue but I'd recommend a reservation Fri and...
