First time here, had been told breakfast is great and the service is subpar so I expected some level of bad service but what I got was horrible. The waiter for starters looked like she couldn’t be bothered. Like she absolutely hated being there. We ordered the carrot orange juice which frankly was the best thing we got. We ordered one coffee cause we were told they didn’t have decaf. And we ordered waters. Never got the water. We asked questions about what the items were and the response was to repeat the same words back. For example: what is hand cheese? “It’s cheese made by hand”. That’s very clear, it’s in the name. I don’t need you to repeat the words to me, I need you to describe the cheese, is it soft? Hard? Salty? Spicy? So we order a cachapa (also asked what that was and received the same kind of reply), and a creole breakfast. They were dropped off and the waiter completely disappeared. Never came back to ask if we were doing ok or if we like the food. For one, it was cold. Food should come out piping hot. Even the eggs were cold. The pork was very dry. It definitely had good flavor but the pork had been dried out. But those black beans? Saved the whole dish. I don’t like black beans and I ate the whole bowl. Very wonderfully flavored. Half way through our meal we were already done with our drinks and she never came back so we couldn’t even ask for water (AGAIN, cause we had already asked and never got them). Someone at a table with food and no drink is a chocking hazard. At the very least every person should get a cup of water as soon as they sit. Well, we stopped eating and waited for the waiter to come back. She’s been talking to a coworker and I guess she finally realized we were done and she came back to ask if we needed something. We boxed what was left and asked for the bill. The bill said her name was Merlin and her shirt said Sonia so I really don’t know what her name is. But the system is set to help you auto select 20% gratuity. I’ve been in the business for 12 years so I wasn’t going to leave her nothing. But I definitely switched the tip to 10%. And she frankly didn’t deserve that. My mom doesn’t want to go back and I...
Read morePlaced an order at 5:13pm (#17029) for take out yesterday and was told to pick it up at the outside window. I requested hot sauce on the side for the "Famoso Pan con Lechon) and told the lady that answered the phone (name on ticket Merlin F) not to forget to place it with the food. When I approached the outside window, there were 2 ladies. One was making cuban coffee and the other one was just standing there. I waited and waited for either one to acknowledge that I was there and after approximately 1 minute, the one that was doing nothing looked at me at raised her eyebrows, like signaling "what do you want", I did the same, then she did it again without saying one word, and I copied her exact gesture for the 2nd time. Finally she said in an aggressive manner "Name" and I said Willie. She brought me a bag and placed the hand held credit card machine in front of me without saying one word. WOW I paid for the food and while driving home I could not believe what had just happened. Sign language without a word except for one "NAME" I've been a customer for as long as I can remember at your restaurant. Joanna (the manager) knows me and I've always dealt with her, but she had left for the day when I called back to speak with her. I know that we are going through some tough times these days but this service and the way I was treated was totally unacceptable. I am also a manager for a large company. I deal with customers everyday and don't want employees to lose their jobs for being rude and not courteous but customer service is what represents your business and is the most important first impression to anyone who visits your restaurant. I strongly recommend that you identify who she is and have a one on one with her and maybe retrain her or you will be losing a lot of customers if she continues to use sign language with others. I will continue to go to La Esquina del Lechon since I love the food but will not pick it up at the window. BTW......No hot sauce was placed with my order. Sad but true. Hope that you can correct this...

I highly recommend La Esquina del Lechon in Doral. The food is consistently delicious and cooked to perfection. They are always happy to accommodate my requests, ensuring my meals are lean and clean, which is essential for my training regimen. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, making every visit a pleasant experience.
I want to give a special shout-out to Sissy, an exceptional waitress who went above and beyond to make me feel valued as a customer. Months ago, I received some bad news about my brother just before dining at La Esquina del Lechon. Sissy not only remembered me but also recalled the difficult situation I was facing. She took the time to ask about my brother, demonstrating genuine care and compassion. This thoughtful gesture meant the world to me. It shifted my focus and brightened my day. I felt a hug was not enough to express my gratitude. She deserves a raise!
La Esquina del Lechon is more than just a restaurant; it is a place where you feel like family. The combination of delicious food and outstanding service, especially from Sissy, makes it a must-visit for anyone in Doral.
