Legends Halal Grill — Restaurant in Woodlawn

I’ve been hearing great reviews of Legends so I finally thought I’d check it out after an exhausting day at work. I order a spicy chicken sandwich with no mayo and spicy chicken tenders (not on the menu but they were accommodating). Overall I thought the experience was fine until I got on 695 4 miles away to realize they put mayo on my sandwich and they didn’t give me my tenders only fries. I call back and the kid that answers says that I left them there when he’s the one who handed me my order. Regardless I go back get my tenders let them know they put mayo on the sandwich. They offered to make another but I declined because I was so tired and wanted to leave. The following day I come back because I really wanted to try the spicy chicken sandwich, the manger (or owner?) recognizes me and doesn’t charge me for the sandwich and I order some other stuff. I drive home only to find out the sandwich wasn’t the spicy sandwich but the regular. So two days in a row my order was messed up. Otherwise food quality was good and the...

Legends.. Legends.. LEGENDS!! I’ve had some good catfish back home in Texas, but never like this. This catfish is amazingly delicious, perfectly seasoned, crisped to perfection. The fries… the fries are phenomenal as well, perfectly seasoned, and crisped to perfection! The sweet tea???? It takes everything in me not to stop for a cup when I’m in the area.

Everything is fresh so you’ll wait for your food. I recommend if you’re taking your food to go— vent the box so it stays crispy.

Sauces/Dips: I’m not sure if they have tartar sauce so I keep one on me if I know I’m going to Legends.

I use ranch as a dipping sauce for the fries and it takes it to a whole new level. Recently added a few drops of their cilantro sauce to my ranch and dipped the fries in there and OMG 😭 had my taste buds JUMPIN!

Hot sauce is phenomenal! I usually mix a little in with my tartar sauce and lemon juice for the catfish.

Legends will see me at least once a month.

BAD - Generally poor customer service, bad attitude

Food taste and quality matter most and it carries the 3 stars here. Sandwich was juicy and the fries and cheesecake very good. The sandwich was drowned in a creamy sauce (total napkin fest). I recommend asking for less or a side - very messy.

It was 830ish when I arrived and working all day, I wanted to sit and eat. They closed at 10. No luck - an insolent, rude teen informed me she needed 1.5 hours to mop and sweep the store so "she could leave." This was beyond obnoxious. Most of the store front is a narrow corridor in front of the check out counter. I could have swept and mopped the whole store front myself in 20 minutes.

I only recommend this place for take out. The priorities are less than desirable otherwise.

Separate note, this place isnt right along Rolling road, but hidden in an obsure shopping center - hard to spot...
