DO NOT EAT HERE! The customer service is terrible and they get your order wrong without any remorse of making things right. I drove an hour this weekend to spending time with my family to have dinner. My mom cooked the sides and told her I would bring the meat. I order my food via online, which was a 55 mins wait. I arrived within the hour as requested and because at times this place is crowded and the food is never ready. I picked up my food and my parents house is 5 minutes from the Woodlawn location. I got to my parents house the food was cold and they missed one of my orders. I had to call the establishment 3x times before anyone answered. I explained to phone attendant when she answered that my food I order was cold and they missed one of my orders that was not in my bag. She put me on hold to speak to the manager and he told her they could not refund me my money because the cash & credit card draw was close for the evening. He told me to come back tomorrow. I explained to them I do not live in the area and I live an hour away. They told me to put a dispute in with my credit card company to get the money back if I can’t come the next day for receive my refund. I was so disappointed and felt that the suggestion the manager made was not professional and was down right rude. Because of this my family dinner was ruined as my mom did not have enough meat to go with her meal to serve the family! I told them I will put the dispute in with my credit card company and I will never purchase anything from this restaurant again. The crazy part is that I came in the area and purchase the day before to spend time with my family and made a push add from the restaurant and they got my order wrong, but I was able to catch it before driving off. Please do not eat here … our people at times have no respect, professionalism, grace and the level of comprehension to get things right. This establishment does not operate on level of excellent or integrity when it comes to getting your order right and properly repaying you. Signed...
Read moreWell, let me start by saying that my first visit was at the location in Owings Mills and I was in total awe. I never knew this place existed and was happy to stumble upon it. It was a clean and professional environment. The customer service was excellent and the food was delicious. The staff was friendly and courteous. I have been in many urban restaurants but this one exceeded all expectations. My experience was so good that I decided to take my wife out to the dine in location. So, why not a perfect 5 stars? Well, I have a few friendly suggestions that could get it there. I noticed you have people of diverse cultures(One was a regular who was on a first name basis) visiting this establishment so I would suggest expanding your advertising to include a broader audience. As one of the other reviewers shared, not everyone listens to urban radio. But kudos to you because this is the first time I have seen other ethnicity enjoying our cultural cuisine. The "dine in" experience is a great idea, how about expanding it to include the servers and or hostess to greet the customers who want to have that full restaurant experience? I personally loved the music, however some of your clients are of the cross-cultural sort,so mix it up a bit to cater to a wider variety of patrons. The food will be just as good I am sure :) I have noticed in other reviews that you have had ongoing training with your staff and that is great! I would suggest using whatever method you have employed at the Owings Mills location across all stores. The run a tight ship and it has a family feel there. "Smiles go a long way" I know that restaurants try their best to avoid waste, but please make sure you keep as many menu items available during business hours. Customers will return if you have their personal favorites on hand. In conclusion, I love what you are doing here and I feel honored to support your business knowing that it helps the community. Keep up the good work and I will be sure to drop that other"star" om my...
Read moreFinally, I got the opportunity to stop here for some food. Everyone in here was very friendly and all smiles.
First, I will start by saying this:
I ordered a fried chicken breast. I received fried wings. While this is a $1 difference in price, I did not say anything for one exact reason. It is not my responsibility to check the order to make sure it is correct. Whether I am paying or not. All I am supposed to do is walk in, order, pay, and enjoy my food. Nothing further.
The chicken, despite the mix-up, was very good. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. My sides included the macaroni and cheese and red skinned mashed potatoes.
The noodles in the macaroni and cheese were cooked perfectly with a nice buttery finish and lots of cheese. I like creamy but this was good. And tasted good.
My mashed potatoes weren't completely done. The diced chunks needed a few more minutes, but it was still edible. I liked how part of the potatoes were whipped with the diced chunks. Just needed a little salt and pepper, and it was all good.
The meal also comes with a little corn muffin. It tasted like a corn cupcake, which was very different and didn't need no butter or anything. It was a nice touch to the meal. Different. I liked it.
Lastly, I finished it off with a slice of sweet potato pie. Now I have made my own scratch sweet potato pie before, and I can tell the difference here. The first thing that came to mind here was store bought. But it was more like a sweet potato pudding pie. Which made a world of a difference. It was very good.
I've made tons of scratch food raising kids over the last two decades. Everything here wasn't bad. But I could tell that not all of it was fresh...
