Sooo many times (weekly) we’ve visited Los Magueyes and this time will be MOST remembered.
Alberto Cruz; Manager and Tatiana was our waitress.
I ordered the Mojarra Frita at $14.99 after asking Tatiana a few questions regarding the fish. She said “Ma’am it’s a BIG fish”, and Hubby has the Carnitas platter. His food was so awesome. However, the whole fried fish was over cooked and hardly no meat on the fish. Basically bones. Hubby food arrived approximately 10min before my plate arrived. When I asked to have the fish removed from the bill (I was prepared to leave that amount as extra towards the tip). Tatiana replied “Us Mexicans know not much meat is on tilapia, you should have ordered the filet style”…Well why didn’t you say so and not contradict yourself with the whole “Big Fish” deal. Alberto (Manager) made such a big deal and said “You ate the whole thing”. My reply was there was nothing to eat. Not to make a scene I just asked for the check and paid.
@ Rodriguez, Jaime & RAYAS CERVANTES, GLORIA (President/ VP), Poor Management is THE worse. It won’t stop me from returning, however I won’t explore the menu as I usually do. I’ll just stick to tacos 😞. Another thing… What’s going on with the A/C?? It’s SO hot for the last 4 visits.
As for Alberto Cruz: perhaps explore more management and customer service skill. If not, stay in the back that way you don’t have to deal...
Read moreAtmosphere is really good. Not fancy but very clean and two rooms with tables. Good place for gatherings of larger groups.
I have to include the two main rooms. One is the bar....a bar that is very inviting. Nice atmosphere and its all decked-out in cool Mexican decor! There are several booths along the outside wall with big windows...and the sun wasn't bad at all. Must have decent 'tint' on the windows.
The other room is all dining. Lots of tables...so a large group could be accomodated. Our retirement community likes to go out to a restaurant as a small group...usually 10-20 people when we go. This place would be perfect for us!
The food was very good. We got nothing fancy at all...just a typical Mexican combo plate...a little of each. Every choice was distinctly different....Yes, the taco flavor and texture was all taco. Same for the Enchilada. Distinct flavor...some places every item tastes the same. Not here...every item is delicious, but each tastes as it should for the item chosen. And finally, the first course...the chips and salsa. I loved the salsa....I'm a heat-loving salsa person....this salsa had just enough of a kick to make it 'authentic....spice without heat. Good stuff!
We will be back, and if enough of our community over there is ready for a night out for good Mexican food, I'll talk with the owner and see about...
Read moreWe have been dying to try this place as it is a favourite of our friends. Unfortunately it was very disappointing. We received the wrong drink order twice. One member of our party never received her meal as we all sat waiting for her food to come we ended up eating cold food. She had placed a very specific order but finally had to settle for something that they just ended up serving her. So two people got served the wrong meal and one person never received the drink he ordered. Our waitress who never wrote down our order ( probably her first mistake) actually argued with the person who received the wrong meal and rolled her eyes as she walked away. No one apologized, no one checked that our food was ok and finally we had to ask a busboy to get us another beer. Service and customer care was extremely poor. The food tasted good but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Yes, we tipped our rude server because we are nice but I really didn't want to. We finally drank the drinks that we didn't order ( seriously who can mess up a Crown and ginger - apparently they can) and two of us picked at the food we didn't order.
So if you are going to eat here make sure your server writes your order down or you will end up having to eat something you...
