Tbone Soundsgood (TBONE)Tbone Soundsgood (TBONE)
Summary: This Vietnamese pho restaurant is truly a hidden gem and incredibly underrated. The food is fresh, the flavors are balanced, and the experience is well worth it. Having been here twice now, I can confidently say I’ll be back for more. If you’re looking for a great pho spot, this is it! Ambience (4.5/5): The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, a great place for a comforting bowl of pho. It’s not overly crowded, making it a perfect spot to enjoy your meal without the rush of other diners. The interior is simple but functional, with a cozy vibe. Authenticity (5/5): The pho here is on point! The noodles are perfectly firm, never soggy, which is key to a good bowl of pho. The broth is incredibly flavorful without being salty, so you can actually taste the depth of the soup without feeling overwhelmed by MSG. My wife got the spicy pho, and she loved it too. The egg rolls were solid—maybe not homemade, but still delicious and a good portion size. Flavor (5/5): The flavors were well-balanced, especially in the broth. It wasn’t salty, which is refreshing compared to other places where too much MSG can overpower the dish. You can really savor the freshness of the ingredients in every bite. The egg rolls were a nice addition, though the pho is definitely the star of the show. Cost (5/5): For the quality of the food, the prices are very reasonable. Given the fresh ingredients and generous portions, it feels like a great value, especially considering how underrated this place is. Service (5/5): Service was friendly and efficient. Even though it wasn’t very busy, the staff made sure everything was smooth and quick, making our experience enjoyable. They were attentive but never rushed us, which added to the relaxed atmosphere. Tips for Visiting: 1. Definitely try the pho—the broth is flavorful without being overly salty, and the noodles are cooked perfectly. 2. The egg rolls are a solid side, but the spicy pho is a must if you’re into a bit of heat. 3. This place is underrated, so it’s never too crowded—perfect for a relaxed meal. Don’t forget to share the love and bring more people here!

Pho Huê and I had a lukewarm fling. Not love, not hate—just a mild, brothy entanglement that left me full, but not necessarily fulfilled. Now, I don't believe in penalizing an establishment for an "off-day".. So we'll grade this one on a curve if you will... So let’s get the good stuff out of the way: the meat was actually pretty solid. Tender, flavorful, and clearly trying its best to hold this bowl together like a responsible oldest sibling. I appreciated its effort, If the rest of the pho had matched the meat's enthusiasm, we’d be having a very different conversation right now. Side note: having GOOD noodles will make up for many shortcomings you make encounter as an establishment. But these noodles—oh, help the noodles! Please! Soft, soggy, and giving strong “left in the hot tub too long” energy. The bean sprouts were in full sympathy mode: limp, sad, and seemingly contemplating retirement. It was like they missed the memo on "crunchy and fresh." And then there was the broth—greasy, it was rich & decently flavorful, just... a lil bit greasy. A day at the 'track'. I spent most of the meal chasing flavor and dodging oil slicks like I was in some kind of noodle-based obstacle course. Location: 3 Atmosphere: 8 (Clean, Peaceful, no flies) Price: 4 -- I understand inflation, but overpriced is what it is. Coming from someone who does not mind spending a mint for great food and service. I wouldn't be embarrassed to send someone here; but it's possible that I may have driven past a better option on the way here...

This place is an absolute joke. We ordered a 2 large Pho bowls and an extra large. One large order with meatballs contained 2 small meatballs cut up in quarters $10.80. The other large had one quartered meatball and two thin slices of steak. The extra large ($13.95) has 1 small piece of thin brisket, one thin slice of steak and one slice of fatty flank. Their extra large is the size of a medium at Than Brothers. Don’t waste your money here as you’ll be very disappointed.

Nestled in the heart of the city, Phở Huế is not just another Vietnamese restaurant; it’s a portal to the rich culinary traditions of Huế, a city known for its historical significance and flavorful cuisine. As soon as you step inside, you are enveloped by an ambiance that feels both inviting and authentically Vietnamese. The warm hues of the decor, adorned with traditional motifs, set the stage for a dining experience that promises to tantalize your taste buds.

Upon being seated, the friendly staff welcomes you with genuine smiles, making you feel at home. The menu is a well-curated selection of dishes, showcasing the best of Huế's culinary offerings. While Phở is the star attraction, the extensive array of appetizers and side dishes merits attention, each presenting an opportunity to explore the vibrant flavors of Vietnamese cuisine.

Starting with the appetizers, the bánh bèo (steamed rice cakes topped with shrimp) is a must-try. These delicate morsels are served in small bowls, each offering a perfect balance of textures and flavors. The shrimp is tender and flavorful, harmonizing beautifully with the soft, chewy rice cakes. Another standout is the chả cuốn (spring rolls), which are fresh and crisp, accompanied by a tangy dipping sauce that elevates every bite.

When it comes to the main attraction, the phở is nothing short of extraordinary. The Phở Huế specialty, known as Phở bò, features rich beef broth simmered for hours, resulting in a depth of flavor that is both complex and comforting. The aroma alone is enough to transport you to the bustling streets of Huế. Each bowl is generously filled with perfectly cooked rice noodles, tender slices of beef, and an array of fresh herbs. The addition of lime and chili allows for a customizable experience that caters to every palate.

What sets Phở Huế apart is their dedication to authenticity. You can taste the care that goes into each ingredient, from the high-quality cuts of meat to the fresh herbs sourced from local markets. The attention to detail is evident not only in the flavors but also in the presentation of each dish. It’s a feast for both the eyes and the palate.

For those who seek something beyond traditional phở, the restaurant offers a variety of unique dishes that reflect the diverse flavors of Huế. The bún bò Huế, a spicy beef noodle soup, is a fantastic alternative, with a rich, fragrant broth that is both invigorating and satisfying. The balance of lemongrass and chili in this dish creates an unforgettable experience.

To round off your meal, don’t miss the dessert menu. The chè (Vietnamese sweet soup) is a delightful way to end your culinary adventure. It’s light, refreshing, and beautifully crafted, offering a perfect contrast to the savory richness of the main dishes.

In conclusion, Phở Huế is more than just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of Vietnamese culture and cuisine. The combination of authentic flavors, attentive service, and a warm atmosphere makes it a must-visit for both newcomers and seasoned lovers of Vietnamese food. Whether you’re craving a comforting bowl of phở or looking to explore the lesser-known delights of Huế, this culinary gem is sure to leave a lasting impression. Don’t just take my word for it—visit Phở Huế and embark on your own delicious journey.

Thanks to the Owner for making my expirence with her cooking all the more...
