Grand opening is November 4th. Right now is more of a soft opening with a limited supply, so they can sell out before 6:30 closing time. Basically, come early. As the newest seafood option around, they're already a strong competitor with some of the staples over in Edmonds. I believe they're from Kent, either opening a second location or moving. One of the few spots with marlin around Seattle, so this was my first time. They're also offering samples, I'm not sure if it's because of the new opening but I'm positive they'd let you try anything even in the future. Our day wasn't set to be positive due to circumstance but a visit here definitely lifted the mood. Friendly and welcoming service. Ample parking in the plaza, Hanapa'a is next to Bobby's. Limited seating at the moment (2 small tables, can be merged to fit a larger party) but we were told they're aiming to add benches. Highly recommend an order to enjoy at the beach or waterfront as an alternative. Poke bowls come with 3 proteins (bowl) or 4 proteins (plate) and include rice, furikake, crab salad, seaweed salad, cucumber, and roe. Very healthy, tasty, and filling. I'd guestimate each order of protein is 2-3 ounces worth. Overall well rounded. Would be fantastic to have more side options but keeping a limited selection does ensure higher quality. Mac salad is definitely a desire though, it would pair amazing with the bowl. Current (soft opening) fish include blue marlin, Hawaiian limu ahi, ginger onion ahi, shoyu ahi, and creamy spicy ahi. There's another ahi that I forgot about. There's also tako, scallops, mussels and crab. The fish was fresh and well cut. The phrase "fresh, never frozen" definitely applies here.

Glad I tried this local spot. Friendly atmosphere inside and both of the staff were very informative and made sure to check my preferences for every part of my order. When I asked about the difference between tuna options, I was offered to try a sample of one of the tuna options to see if I want it, but I didn’t need to. This is the first poke spot I’ve tried where I enjoy the protein (tuna) AND the sides, including the rice with just the sauces. Yummy! I should have checked if they offered pickled ginger (sushi type) as a side. Maybe I missed out on one of the pre-packaged to-go packets.

These guys (and gals) are artisans. They’re not just there to serve a meal, they are connoisseurs. What does that mean? That means they know fish, they catch their own fish, they cut their own fish, and most importantly, they educate others about quality fish. You walk in and they have you taste the fish. They talk to you about the fish. And they are super warm and kind. The quality of the poke bowls are six star. If you’re around Lynnwood- it’s a must try.

Hands down my favorite poke!

From the owners of Green Valley restaurant in Kent comes this Poke only spin-off. Almost every time I visited Kent I made it a point to stop by their restaurant for their poke which in my opinion was the best poke around. Now I don't have to go nearly as far for the same fresh fish and outstanding flavors.

I know Seattle has a lot of poke places including Seattle Fish Guys, Hiroshis's, Ono in Edmonds. I've tried them all and Hanapa'a just hit all the points for me, freshness and flavor of the fish, variety of poke choices, a wide set of side dishes, and rice at just the right temperature and...
