So yes, should have looked at prices before I got here, but went on advice of someone at our hotel. Even so, figured a nice place in a vacation town, expensive but good food, right? Most definitely not. All breakfast items MORE expensive than all lunch items, (lunch burger cheaper than my no-meat breakfast wrap) and breakfast no better than waffle house. Got the $14 breakfast wrap, a TINY tortilla with eggs, spinach, and tomato if I squint. Really bad, like, very bad. I don't mind paying vacay prices for excellent food (see hidden valley tavern in sapphire, amazing restaurant, five forks), but this was beyond disappointing. Its not hard: Replace spinach with kale, use slices of heirloom tomatoes, add mushrooms and meat, and increase the size. Boom, that's a $14 breakfast wrap with limited cost upgrade. As it stands now I would actively dissuade people from going here. Also decor sucks, but don't expect a lot, just saying be the least bit original. I think they heard us talking about our experience and as soon as that happened the service went way downhill instead of an attempt to make up for it. Just don't with this place. Pretty sure the truck up the street would be better. This entire disappointing meal cost close to as much as our dinner entrees at the fantastic hidden valley tavern up the road. A dearth of breakfast places in the area does not justify this. As they say in Ontario,...
ย ย ย Read moreI did 3 stars because the food was really great. My family and I are on vacation here & this was our first stop with food. Took our 3 kids to breakfast here, the Greek omelet was phenomenal. My kids all enjoyed their food as well, & brought home food for the hubby as he stayed behind this morning. He loved it too.
But. My debit card was denied. (Because we are on vacation from Georgia) & while she was nicer before we left, the manager was pretty rude about it when she came over to the table to ask if I had another form of payment. (Which I only had another card from the same bank.. & it also was frozen to prevent fraud.)
I didn't have my cell phone with me (again, vaca mode) so finally reached my husband on our teens phones & he took care of the issue, but I will just say I won't be going back regardless of the food because of how I was made feel while eating there with my children. We own 2 restaurants & we've also both worked in the food service industry so I just would expect this to be handled in a more professional and...
ย ย ย Read moreMy family rented this place for the rehearsal dinner of my brother's wedding the following day... and it was wonderful! The food, in my opinion, was amazing! I, personally, had the salmon and it was definitely at the top of my top 3 salmon meals ever ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป the slight teriyaki drizzle on top just made it THAT much tastier and the gigantic baked potato (with the fixings that you can add JUST how you like it) was the proverbial "cherry on top" ๐๐ป I've never been here for a "regular" dinner but I can't imagine the food would be anything but amazing on any other night ๐บ My only "issue" is just that there is no liquor served at all...we had to get a special permit for just beer & wine (and, my personal favorite, sangria)... Coming from NYC, this was just a bit odd for me...but I understand this is something of a town "ordinance" ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ I do highly recommend this place ๐บ the atmosphere is very cozy and the staff is friendly & attentive...if you're ever in the Cashiers, NC area, do stop by for some great...
