Vacation towns tend to attract folks with money - and Cashiers in no exception. In the surrounding hills, one can honestly say "Thar's money in them thar hills" (money made elsewhere and spent on nice real estate here).
All that said, these towns have coffee shops that compete to attract "the beautiful people" down from the hills. This is one of those places.
Behind the counter, there is an abundance of attitude - from the gentleman barista (who doles out smiles with remarkable infrequency) and the others who come across dour and not at all concerned with service being something to deliver with pleasantries.
The three times we visited, it almost seemed as though our orders were somewhat inconvenient.
It's chic inside. there's a jaguar skin in front of the fire-place. The idea is that here is where the well-to-do's come for their cup o' joe.
And, sure enough. The popped collars, sockless loafers and go-to-hell pink or lime-green shorts all belie a life-style that is attracted to Bucks Coffee - very likely to share their own clinched and dour outlooks.

Buckās Coffee Shop in Cashiers is a true gem! From the moment you walk in, youāre greeted with warm smiles, the comforting aroma of fresh-brewed coffee, and a cozy, rustic charm that instantly makes you feel at home. The atmosphere is relaxed and invitingāperfect for catching up with friends, getting some work done, or simply enjoying a quiet moment with a book. Their coffee is exceptionalārich, smooth, and clearly made with care. The pastries and breakfast items are fresh and delicious, with just the right amount of Southern flair. I wish I had better pictures but obviously I go to enjoy the delicious pastry and coffee.

Very confused followed the man outside. He asked if I was planning on buying something since other people were in line. Telling me I need to buy something the tables were filling. I tried to explain I was planning on purchasing a coffee and a sandwich. The man told me 'he had heard that before, you need to leave if you are not going to buy anything'. As I am telling him I just needed to answer an email. I'm very understanding but this was just rude. the best part was walking out seeing 3 tables with 4 chairs at each table. the tables were clean and ready to be sat at...... Handle things better there guy. honestly more upset I wasn't able to get my coffee and sandwich. like hello buddy why would I just go there for wifi. Its 2019 I HAVE A HOME WITH...
