Leavitt's Country Bakery — Restaurant in Conway

I hate to say it because I am the last person to nit pick, but to start, we asked for 2 breakfast sandwiches and the girl behind the counter yelled back to the other employee in back who was apparently mentally done with her day. It was so awkward that I asked the first at the register about if she didn't want to make them....While sandwiches were being made, she walked out to tell the girl in front " no more sandwiches after these." All while sniffiling and wiping her nose with her hand stating how her nose was dripping. Then walked back directly to the food and wrapped it.. no gloves. Like I said I hate to say anything but there was so much and to top it off I had a weird string inside of my canoli. I should have spoken up but I didn't. I'll own that in regards to my review, but I highly doubt it could have improved at that point. The donuts are delicious but I left feeling like eating anything that I got there could be bad. I used to love this place and rave about it to everybody I could but I was very disappointed when I went this year they open at 4 AM so thinking I get there at six that They would have everything out and everything would be fresh but the shelves were pretty much empty and I didn’t have a great selection. The donuts weren’t nearly as good as I remember for the past 10 years I’ve been getting them and I’m pretty sure I was eating the donuts from the day prior because they did not taste fresh. I was also disappointed in my experience the owner wasn’t very kind when I asked if there was anything more in the back and she seemed annoyed at all transactions that I watched happen while I waited for my breakfast sandwiches I don’t think I’ll be back next time. If you have been coming here for years and haven’t in a little, do know it is different! I’ve been coming here for almost 20 years and have hyped it up to everyone I know. But I am so sad to see that everything I loved is gone. My family used to drive 4 hours just to come to this bakery. Which is crazy but was worth it. I came by and it’s all donuts and a couple cookies. The cheese danishes were one of my favorites. I used to get one of everything. The cookie bars. The raspberry filled cookies. The turnovers ! They don’t make it anymore. Now it’s all mainly donuts! Not sure if the owners changed. So sad it’s the end of an era. No more hyping them up. If you love donuts only they are good but if you were looking for the pastries they always had..time for...
