So good! I guess closest to west coast style Chinese food that we've found. We got the hot and sour soup which was similar to other places, but nice flavor. Ingredients are properly sized to fit on your spoon, lots of places around here cut them way too long and it's a hassle to eat. Two egg rolls which are definitely home made but I wish there was more variety inside. They seemed like mostly cabbage, but nice and crispy and good size. Combination lo mein has chicken, pork, shrimp, and other meats mixed in which usually costs more but they charge the same. Good ratio of veggies to meat and noodles. Probably one of the better Chinese noodles we've had since we moved years ago from the west coast. General Tso Chicken you can pick your spice, I went with 2 just to see what their levels are like and we may stick with it. Subtle kick that didn't overwhelm the nice flavor of their sauce. While I loved the flavor, I will say the breading didn't hold up well. By the time we dished up it was soggy and falling off, I've had places where it stays crispy for hours so I know it's possible. Pork fried rice. This I'm most excited about! I've not enjoyed the fried rice anywhere besides Fuji. It's all been yellow rice, not made with soy sauce, and just not great. This is what we've been looking for! It matches the fried rice we've had from every other state including when we traveled to China lol. Tennessee is the anomaly with the yellow rice, until now. I'm over the moon right now, wouldn't think rice could do that ha ha!
Those are our base items to try a new place. Since they did very well, I can't wait to try some of their many other dishes. Ordering was easy through their website, I just specified when I was picking up and they had it ready to go. I'll mention online it asks for a tip, so I went ahead and added it at the end, but you don't check out online. When I paid in store, the tip I selected was included in the total (not itemized) but the receipt still had a line requesting tip. I told the girl it was included already, but next time I'll leave it off the online order and add myself on the receipt because I feel bad putting $0 on the tip line. Darn social pressures giving me...

The BEST Chinese food in Middle Tennessee. The worst servers in Cookeville.
This, off the beaten path, Chinese restaurant has some of the best food in Tennessee. From the outside, it looks like a barely functioning Gentleman's Club. No kidding. The super bright pink exterior can be a bit of a turn-off. It even has poster type frames on the exterior where one can imagine adult posters advertising the upcoming venues like Bridgit or Bambi. It really is quite striking, but don't let that keep you from going inside and eating some of the best Oriental dishes in Tennessee. The food is ALWAYS served hot and fresh. The portions are very large, and be sure to try several dishes and share them with everyone at your table. I have not found a dish I didn't like, but I do have many favorites.
My only complaint is the service. The owner started with some of the best servers but has settled in with some other servers that just don't seem to understand customer service or waiting tables. They seem to be constantly annoyed they have to serve you, and every request gets a huff, a rolling of the eyes and an attitude. It has really kept me away on many occasions because I just don't want to deal with terrible service. The lady owner does a good job, but the servers she has on the floor need to go. Their attitude and complete disregard for customer service is destroying her business.
Please get some better servers!!! I want to continue bringing friends and family to...
Read moreThis place makes some amazing Chinese food! Inside the restaurant, it looks like your standard fast food Chinese place, but once they bring the food out, the food is presented like it was made by a 5 star restaurant chef. Surprisingly they prepare the food quite fast, and it is as good as it looks too. The chicken meat inside is never overly fatty, and they give large portions. The waitresses are very attentive too. What you’ll see in the pic I posted is their spicy orange chicken. My family and I have been several times now, and we plan to keep returning.
Just visited for lunch and got their Twice Cooked Pork off their lunch menu, and it was delicious. The size of their lunch portions are big for just $8.50! One egg roll is nearly the size of two from other Chinese places.
Tried their drunken noodles for another visit, and they are excellent. I really like the variety of Asian cuisines on the menu. They have everything from Chinese to Thai to Malaysian on the menu.
During another visit I had their Malaysian style chicken curry laksa noodles. The bowl was HUGE, easily enough for 2 or 3 people! If you like Thai curries, it was similar, only more like a soup base with noodles instead or rice and not as sugary as Thai curry. Definitely worth a try.
Their tofu Chow Mei Fun (rice noodles) was...
