JCPenney — Local services in Cookeville

We had the worst experience at this location on Sunday. The lines were super long as pictured and mentioned in other reviews. So, I saw an employee with a JC Penney badge and she was in the mens clothing area not far from another customer service area. I said "excuse me ma'am, could you check us out?" Well as soon as I said "excuse me ma'am", you would not believe the facial expression that I had the nerve to call on her to assist us. She gave me a dirty look and said "check you out?" I said, "yes, can you check us out" while I was holding clothes. She said, "I'm putting away clothes you can stand in the line over there!" And she said this so rudely to me, and my husband could not believe it either. I said "I'm sorry I was just asking". I asked what her name was and she said "Celeste, I am a manager". Of course we had to go stand in the long line with one checker. Celeste continued to put away clothing on the floor while the line was a mile back. This was at 12:58 pm on Sunday 7-24-22. I wish they would look at the video tapes (if there is any) of how we were treated. Even if we had to stand in line, Celeste could have been more sympathetic, instead of acting like we were bothering her. I mean it is JC Penney and we are customers there to buy things? Go figure. Never again will I step foot in this store. Even the cashier was not...

My husband and I went in to buy a birthstone necklace & earrings for our daughter's 8th birthday(as that's all she had really asked for) and man were we having a time on narrowing down- "I found it, this is the one, aww but look at these, here this suites her, what about this & these though, I think she'd love this or these", & so on... Almost to the point we both were getting headaches 🙃. But then the sales lady working at the jewelry counter said is there anyway I might can help...when I told her why we were there she said well we have some nice stuff over here & it's on sale!(a bonus; fine quality jewelry & at an Awesome bargain!)She was Amazing & Very Nice 2 things that seem difficult to come by these days at any store almost & with the $ we saved from the sale we were able to purchase a protection plan for the next 2 yrs(if ANYTHING broke or stones fell out they would be replaced &/ or fixed at NO cost!)- So we thanked her & told her how grateful we were & how much we appreciated her being so nice & taking the time she did with us. I'd Definitely recommend JC Penny's to Anyone for their quality items that won't brake your savings!! Just watch out for...

Great selection of clothes with some good high quality brands. We went to find a dress for my daughters Spring dance and they had a lot of different choices to match the season. I ended up getting some clothes for my other kids and wife also due to their good selection and prices. I also plan on coming back and getting some Levi's and some summer shirts. Also the employees are really nice and helpful and got us a 35% discount by getting us their Penny's card and using it to buy the items and then allowed us to immediately pay it off right there in the same transaction. This also allows us to get 25% on anything purchased with it in the next 24 hours either in store or from their large online selection which has a lot of good discounts and I believe we'll be taking advantage of that to get my daughters some shoes for the dance also. Store was also very clean and well organized. It's in a great location with plenty of parking spaces since it's part of the mall that went out of business. Overall a very enjoyable experience, which is saying something because I usually don't like clothes shopping and was dreading it, and I will be returning to shop here in the...
