UPDATE: Unfortunately, I have to lower my rating again. This was a fantastic place for awhile when it opened; coffee of much better quality than the usual burned SB beans. However, service continues to decline daily as they appear to have an entirely new staff and none of the outgoing, truly seasoned employees are left that I can tell. For the third time in a row; my order was delayed 3 cars behind the intended dual-lane flow (problem 1) and it was wrong each time (problem 2), therefore I had to send it back. These orders should be captured properly before we pay, so how they keep screwing it up eludes me. Generally, the people used to be energetic, engaging and well-skilled, some really gave extra special service. The music used to be loud and GOOD (said with very broad taste here). These things no longer embody this Coppell location - often the employees don’t say much and they don’t seem to be playing music at all or we can’t hear it. I will likely go back to making my own coffee every morning since the novelty of this new drive-thru coffee approach has faded entirely and is not worth $6 a cup. Disappointing.
OLD: Let me start by saying, I love 151…the coffee and the culture. Unfortunately, this location has a team of guys who work and a team of girls who work different shifts. I don’t know why they separate shifts this way…difficult to believe it’s coincidence, but to each their own. The girl shifts rock, consistently quick and excellent made coffee. However, the guys miss it every time! They don’t take orders from both lines in an organized manner so one line usually stalls completely. My drink is always messed up (it’s easy - latte 1/2 sweet). Once I got regular coffee 1/2 sweet, and anytime I get the actual latte from the guys , I fail to recognize any coffee in the drink - it’s 98% milk. This is a lot to pay (and I always tip) for a warm cup of milk. Not to mention, today they smashed the cup putting the lid on and when I drove away, the lid popped off and the cup collapsed in my hand. The lid did not fit back on the cup at all. I’d love to change this review back to 5 stars where it belongs, but not until they divvy these shift up better to include some well-seasoned, possibly female, team members in every shift. Saturday mornings you’ve got to have your Rockstars working. That was a miss this week, again. Moving forward, I’ll have to leave without ordering if I see the guy...
Read moreBeen here twice so far and we love it! Had to stop ourselves from going again today. It really reminds us of a local coffee shop in Michigan called Biggby, which we've been missing when we're in the mood for a crazy drink (like the cinnamon roll). I like my coffee to taste more like coffee with just a bit of syrup if I'm in the mood for something sweet. They'll do less syrup if requested (I ask for half sweet) and they have sugar free options on most of their syrups!
Customer service has been great so far as well!
EDIT: Been here quite a few times now. I've tried their nitro brew and it's actually really good. I usually buy fresh roasted beans and grind them at home so I'm pretty picky. I was very pleasantly surprised, definitely recommended coming here!
I've also tried Starbucks again since psl is back and I just can't anymore with them. Really prefer 151 (and coral reef!) The coffee and espresso just tastes better to me. Also, the employees are very pleasant to interact with and the ordering is QUICK! If there's a line (usually there is) don't leave! You'll have your coffee...
Read moreDenton Tap 151 in Coppell - My drink was not prepared as ordered. I discovered it after I had pulled away from the location. I made a block to get the error corrected. I explained to the person who came to my car what happened and again explained my order. She offered to remake my drink and then went inside and said loud enough I could hear her in my car - “I just got yelled at for how this was made”. When she returned to bring my drink. I said “I did not yell at you. I just explained how I wanted my drink”. She proceeded to tell me I was rude. I asked if I could have the managers name and she said I am the manager. Well, needless to say I will not be returning to this 151. When I lived in town I was at this location daily and never had an issue getting the drink I desired and the staff was super outgoing. This young lady may be the manager of this shift but ownership would not appreciate her attitude and I know I did not appreciate it either. Sorry to not be spending my coffee dollars...
