Disco Fish and Grill Restaurant & Fish Market — Restaurant in Coral Gables

So I have lived in the area for +30 years and I had never visited this place until recently. It never appealed to me because I normally stir away from cafeteria type joints and that was my perspective about thia place. So I recently decided visit, and boy they have a killer sopa de cherna and great fish croquetas.... But that is about it... Unfortunately, everything else I have tried is subpar blant ordinary home type cooking...  I have had their fish filet (fried)... How can they get that wrong... Their version of frutti d'mari, the special seafood fried rice, and the last was the seafood sarsuela which is one their most expensive dishes... I tell you, what a disappointment it was... it was so bad that it prompted me to write this review... Hell, I even gave their lunch shrimp sandwich for 10 bucks a try... It all really sucked to be honest... Their prices are not necessarily cafeteria prices. For the same price range, I get better food at at the chain restaurants like Carrabas or Bone fish with fresh baked ciabatta or italian bread and a salad or soup on the side . Why did I keep coming back? Because the cherna soup is good so I thought it might just be a hit and miss but no... That's it for me. I just don't understand the reviews... My parents used to always bring me here when I was younger I was in the area and decided to stop by. After ordering our food we had to change plans and order to go as something came up. NEVER AGAIN will I visit this place. As we were sitting down eating our ceviche and waiting for the rest of the to-go order a small roach was crawling on the floor. My husband killed it then he looks at me and says move over when I look back 2 MORE ROACHES crawling on the bench where I was sitting. 1 is disgusting enough but 3. Our $120 bill was already paid. I got up told all 3 waitresses what was going on and they said “yes that happens because of the food the customers drop” they did not offer a refund and said things like this always happen when a manager is not around. I get in the car upset and then check my food mind you I ordered the $32 mariscado. It is suppose to come with lobster, shrimp, scallops all types of grilled seafood I got a plate with calamari rings 3 pieces of shrimp and a piece of lobster the rest of the food was freaking onions and peppers. Disco Fish & Grill is hands down one of the best seafood restaurants we've been to here in Miami. We dined here on two separate occasions, and both times, the experience was nothing short of amazing.

The staff made us feel so welcomed, the level of customer service is exceptional, and The team was incredibly accommodating to my toddlers ensuring we had everything we needed to keep our kids comfortable while we enjoyed our meal.

The food is absolutely fresh and full of flavor. Every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection, and you can truly taste the quality of the ingredients. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both top-notch food and outstanding service consistently, but Disco Fish & Grill does just that.
