First and foremost, I'm not a asian food connoisseur but I've had my fair share of asian cuisine. At Crazy Wok, I ordered the orange chicken combo with veggie lo mein, and wonton soup. The food was visually appealing and had a nice aroma. However the taste and flavor was completely off. The orange chicken had a spongy texture And NO orange flavor at all. No zesty or tangy flavor was present in the chicken. It had a hint of sweetness to it and a slight spice but overall flavor was bland. The orange chicken was not crispy at all and due to its spongy texture, which leads me to believe it was frozen breaded chicken. The lo mein in addition had little to no flavor and was disappointing. The wonton soup was good, containing had a nice garlic flavor broth as it should have. The wonton with pork filling had great flavor as well. However, my order was based around the orange chicken and not the soup, so the wonton soup does nothing on determining my rating for this restaurant. Overall, the food was forgettable. For a basic and popular asian dish such as orange chicken to be bland and distasteful with spongy texture, i cant imagine what the other dishes are like. The only positive note was that the food was hot...The coral square Mall Chinese food blows this place...
Read moreWe had a fantastic experience with this restaurant. I called to place an order for pick-up. The gentleman who took my order over the phone was nice. We ordered the Honey Garlic Chicken Combo and the Sweet and Sour Chicken Combo. The combos come with an egg roll, fried rice, and your choice of soup. We both ordered the wonton soup. We were told our order would be ready in 15 minutes. My husband went to pick up the food, and it was ready when he got there. He said the employees were nice as well.
The food was so good! It had great flavor, and there was a lot of it! Both the honey garlic chicken and the sweet and sour chicken are packaged separate from the sauces. This is always appreciated, because the chicken doesn't get mushy with this method. And who doesn't like to be in charge of how little or how much sauce you want on the chicken, right?
We've been looking for a decent Chinese restaurant for take-out, and I believe we've found it! We will...
Read moreSome love it, others hate it. Here’s my take. The place is clean, a pleasant change from the typical Chinese take-out. The prices are high, but competitive. The portions used to be plentiful, but over the past year or so, well, they’ve gotten down-right skimpy, especially with protein. The food is tasty, fresh, and in my opinion, better quality than the other similar places. We had one heck of a time communicating with the order taker who on top of having a heavy accent (did I mention HEAVY?,) was wearing a mask making it even harder to understand her. Alas, after 10 minutes, eureka. No mistakes either! The thing is, you can’t veer off their designated meals. She/they don’t take kindly to special orders (I’ll never try that again at this place). She was downright rude.
There are cons and pros with Crazy Wok, but the food was real tasty and that’s the most important thing so...
