WOW, what a turnaround. I originally gave this newly opened franchise a 1 star review (see original review below), but boy have things changed. This is the first time I went from 1 star to 5, but truth is, this location made a 180 degree improvement. Was it because the franchisee heeded mine and other’s critical reviews or is it that this new business and their staff and procedures simply mature having some practical experience under their belts, I’ll never know. The first 3 times we went, they were out of their mainstay product, the Jamaican beef patties. Their staff were unprofessional, inefficient, and rude. These last 3 visits were polar opposite experiences. They always have their beef patties in stock now and their employees, unreal polite and welcoming. Kudos to this franchisee on this turnaround.
(Original review) Let me start by saying that Golden Krust makes the absolute best Jamaican beef patties anywhere. That said, the reason for the 1 star is simple, this review is for this specific location and it’s terrible. The staff is rude and even putting that aside, they run out of their staple product, the beef patties all too often. I just left there (2pm on a Saturday) and they’re out of beef patties. This is the 3rd time this has happened. It will also be the last because they do not deserve another chance. What a way to run a franchise. Gives the company a bad rap and hurts their reputation. I’ll be emailing their corporate office. I’d want someone to do that for me if one of my franchisees was putting the company I worked so hard to build up in to disrepute. And to the franchise owner, please don’t insult me or other reviewers with your copy and pasted, canned,...
Read moreI am a born West Indian known throughout the Caribbean this has been my worst experience ever in a golden crust restaurant, this golden crust restaurant is highly overpriced with the food. I purchased oxtail with vegetables and three sides of plantain a bottle of ginger beer and a bottle of juice they charged me $51 and cents I ask what did I pay for that cost $51 dalliance. Now many people may not know this I’ve known golden cross from their beginning on gun Hill Road in the Bronx New York before they grew this large I do not know what’s happened but this prices are astronomical and overpriced for the amount of food and the quality of food that one receives half of the plantain a burnt and from personal experience there is entirely too much black sauce in the oxtail gravy I would not recommend eating at this Golden crust ever again to anyone unless you’re willing to pay for something you do not want, I gave them one star to which I do not think...
Read moreTypical rude, short and Kurt service I have come to expect from this store. We have avoided ordering food from this Golden krust because of the quality of food and the poor service but today we were driving in the rain and decided to give them another chance. The curry goat I received was full of bones and the rice was scraped from the bottom of the pot. My wife wanted chicken soup but they only had broth left and offered to sell the broth at the same price as the chicken soup. No dumplings left although it was on the menu, no apologies from the cashier as she told me with a dead resting face they ran out of items despite it being on the menu. Unfortunately they are the only Jamaican food in the area and I believe they conduct themselves in this rude manner because they know of this fact. We will avoid this place and go to Dutch Pot or Donna’s in the neighboring city....
