To start, I am very very disappointed in the lack of respect. The owner feels entitled to control EVERYTHING that her customers do and say. She feels that it is appropriate to pull people outside to confront them about the most minuscule of things. there's no room for any kind of passively confrontational "conversation" about anything that happened in a private setting between 2 adults. it's absolutely so far past ridiculous that Lee feels so entitled to pull me outside with her husband darius and "slap me on the wrist" for recommending a drink to a girl who came UP TO ME and asked me what was in my cup.
When I stepped outside she proceeded to say that her bartenders know exactly what the customers want, and need, and that there is no room for my two cents. There is a line and she moved SO FAR past that point.. She moves in a way that makes her seem like she wants to ābabysitā her customers, studying their every move.. She really needs to check herself bc that is how she will inevitably drive her customers AWAY.. iāve spent SO MUCH money and time in that bar over the last 2 years, and for her to sit there and play "holier than thou" over a literal recommendation I made to a girl who was curious, is beyond me.
In addition, during a previous interaction, Lee had been caught reading her employees' PRIVATE text logs on their PERSONAL phones to run a conversation that was had with someone back to them, without the employeeās knowledge. Lee āfelt as though she didnāt like how she was spoken aboutā in that private conversation as justification for her actions. Personally Lee, I don't know where you get off on babysitting your customers, but i do NOT want to play your twisted control freak games.. If I had one piece of advice to give someone thinking about coming to that bar, it would be to STAY AWAY FROM THAT PLACE AT ALL COSTSā¦.
Just wanted to add that the bartenders are absolutely nothing shy of wonderful. Gilberto, Nayla, and Nicole are wonderful and deserve to work in a healthy work environment. The owner and her need for absolute control is the sole issue with that establishment.
IN RESPONSE TO THEIR REPLY Nobody was being discriminated against. Not one person. You can keep your PR responses to yourself. In fact, the girl who asked me what she should get, and I, are friends. I would like to know what kind of discrimination you are referencing. There is ZERO respect inside that bar. Please remind me which bars I have been ābannedā from. I quit working at a popular kava bar corporation, and was banned from those bars. Anyone who leaves this specific company is no longer welcome in those bars. Lee is trying to make it sound like I am going around and disrespecting people and getting banned from multiple establishments when this is not the case. I was not banned for being disrespectful, as it is merely policy. This sentiment is inherently false and a sheer representation of the complete and utter malice you have in your heart. AND I QUOTE, āHowever, we have received concerns from our kavatenders about your interactions with bar functions and getting involved in conversations between customers and the kavatendersā. I donāt know what your interpretation of āgetting involvedā is, but when someone asks me a question about what I recommend, iām not just gonna sit there and ignore them? Your need for control is debilitating Lee. I have been absolutely nothing but respectful in every interaction inside of those 4 walls. I truly feel very sorry for the bartenders who have to put up with you on a daily basis. Itās truly a shame that you feel it is appropriate to chase your LOYAL customers away. will never be returning to this establishment, and you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been coming to this kava bar for almost a year now. Over that time Iāve built genuine friendships with both the kavatenders and the customers. It used to be such a welcoming and comforting space. Lately, though, Iāve noticed a serious decline in how management treats both their employees and the people who come in.
I recently invited my boyfriend for his first visit and we put our names on the board to play a game of pool. When our turn came, we began setting up, only to be aggressively yelled at by someone I see there often. I believe heās the significant other of a manager named Bee. He is constantly yelling at the top of his lungs and acting like he owns the place. When I calmly said we were next, he started screaming at me. For context, Iām a 5ā5ā woman and heās around 6ā0ā, so the interaction felt very intimidating and completely unnecessary.
My boyfriend was shocked. He told me he didnāt want to come back. This was his first time at any kava bar and if this is how people behave while management allows it, itās not somewhere he wants to return to. When I mentioned what happened to one of the kavatenders, they said, āWe all hate him too. Iāve almost had to kick him out many times but since heās with Bee, we canāt really do anything.ā That really stuck with me. Itās clear that there is favoritism and no accountability.
Bee herself has always acted cold and unapproachable, like she decides who deserves to be treated with respect. The only reason I continued coming was because of Juberto and Nayla. They have always treated me with kindness and made the space feel safe. But after seeing how many times management has disrespected them, I realized I can no longer support this place.
Another issue I witnessed was two girls drinking out of open bottles of alcohol right in the front of the bar. When this was brought up to the owner, Lee, she simply had a light talk with them and nothing more. Meanwhile, the kavatender Clara was openly flirting with them in front of everyone, making the whole situation even more uncomfortable.
On top of all this, the environment has become less safe and more chaotic. Iāve seen 17-year-old boys loitering inside without ever getting IDād. What used to be a relaxed and respectful place for mature people aged 21 to 50 and up has turned into a hangout for underage kids while management runs around acting like they own the place and treats both customers and kavatenders poorly. Alongside all of this, the establishment used to play amazing alternative music only for it to be replaced with trashy house music, if I wanted to go to a RAVE or CLUB, I would go to one not go to a Kava bar. Itās clear the establishment cares more to cater to the teenagers going there and not the mature regulars.
The regulars who used to bring life and community to this space are leaving. The people who genuinely loved and supported this place are being driven out. I used to come here all the time, spend money on drinks and food, and stay until close because I enjoyed the atmosphere. Now I would rather drive to Delray where customers and kavatenders are treated with respect.
It truly breaks my heart to say this, but I wonāt be coming back. Eu amava vim aqui e suportar um lugar brasileiro mais vcs estĆ£o destruindo o lugar & a paz que o bar tinha. NĆ£o...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is a brand new kava bar in Coral Springs. Normally I jump straight into the review but I feel like some people might want to know a bit about kava and what you do in a kava bar.
Kava is a beverage or extract that is made from the root of the kava plant šæ, which is native to the South Pacific islands. It has a long history of use as a traditional ceremonial drink in these cultures, and is known for its sedative and euphoric effects. Kava is also used as a natural remedy for anxiety, insomnia, and other conditions.
Now... What is a kava bar, or what do you do in one? That's what I was wondering when I visited my first one. Kava bars have a relaxed and social atmosphere, similar to that of a coffee shop or lounge where you can drink a kava tea š«. They feature comfortable seating, music, and a variety of kava drinks flavors to choose from.
The kava served at a kava bar is not meant to be mixed with alcohol, and it is often consumed as an alternative to drinking alcohol in some cultures.
So this kava bar just opened and I found out it's name comes from the two founders Darius and Lethicia who both have a tattoo of a flame on their forearms. Together they are the twin flames. š„ā¤ļøš„
The bar features comfortable lounge and bar seating. You can also pickup a game of billiards with the pool table they have or spark up a conversation with other fellow kava drinkers.
As far as kava and kratom, they have 13 different flavors (you add a chaser to the kratom) and different flavors for the kava like the housemade apple kava. I loved the passion mango flavor for the tea. You can ask the staff to give you some advice if it's your first time. I recommend you drink just one to start and give it about 30 minutes to begin feeling the effects. Some people take a few visits to really feel comfortable with the feeling it provides.
There's plenty of parking on the premises and prices are affordable. The idea is to have kava tea and chill and just hang out for a few hours just like you do at a bar without any alcohol.
It's a great spot and I recommend you at least give it a few tries to really enjoy it since some people have to work up to it.
Look out for the twin flames š„
Overall 5 stars and I have definitely become a...
