Tonight we enjoyed the Garlic Knots with Cheese and Garlic Bread with Cheese. Both were equally delicious by themselves or dipped in the flavorful tomato sauce. Then we enjoyed the Gourmet Stuffed Meat Pizza. The top crust was coated in cheese and the bottom crust was cooked perfectly. The stuffing was packed with stretchy mozzarella cheese, meatballs, pepperoni and sausage. All tasted delicious, but the sausage could have used some flavoring otherwise the meatballs and pepperoni was delicious. We ordered cannolis, but something was amiss. The filling was chewy with a gummy texture which I found to be extremely off-putting. And the flavor of the filling wasn't even good. The shell was delicious, but after having had the cannolis multiple times this was the worst one. Hopefully it tastes better the next time we visit.
We visited twice two plus years, and remembered how delicious the food was. It far exceeded our expectations. This is truly reflective of NY Style Italian food on the Southeast. Absolutely delicious. First, we were greeted by a friendly employee, and then served by a friendly waitress. We ordered the garlic knots with cheese, and they were delicious. A perfectly baked garlic knot coated in garlic butter, and topped off with melted mozzarella. Chewy, cheesy with a great pull, and so delicious. Then we ordered the Queen Margarita Pizza. It was the quintessential NY Style Thin Crust Pizza. It held up well to the toppings. A perfect thing crust that allowed the toppings to shine. A flavorful and lightly sweet crushed tomato sauce topped off with milky and creamy homemade mozzarella and fresh basil (fresh, fragrant and pairs well with tomatoes and cheese), and a sesame seed crust. Very different take on the crust but so delicious. It adds a nutty profile that goes well and doesn't overpower the other flavors. For dessert we ordered the Cannoli. The filling was creamy and sweet but not too sweet, and the shell was crispy with a nice cinnamon flavor. A great way to end the meal. I would definitely drive 4.5 hours from Indianapolis to have this pizza. It is the best NY Style Pizza I have had outside of New Jersey and New York. We look forward to our next trip to Brooklyn...
Read moreTLDR summary... This place gets far more right than it does wrong. If you like Italian food that's a significant cut above the big name "chain pizza joints" in terms of food quality while not being exorbitantly priced, you should give these folks a try.
I've been here quite a few times now over the last few months. Several times have been for lunch and a couple of times for dinner. Overall, the food has been really good and very consistently prepared. Above average ingredients are obviously used. Service has always been adequate but sometimes just so and no more. Lunch service has overall been really good. Dinner servers at times seem to be stretched a little thin and are occasionally a bit undertrained. Given the state of the world over the last couple of years that seems to be an issue just about everywhere these days though. A couple of weeks ago I noticed some really tiny forks, like child-sized salad forks, mixed in with the regular ones. I thought it was just a mistake but tonight our whole (adult...) party was given these absurdly tiny forks for our entrees along with normal adult-sized spoons and knives. Please buy a couple cases of adult forks and get these out of circulation. The Lasagna was really good tonight, as was everything else. Eating it with a kiddy fork wasn't ideal and honestly your food deserves better. It really does. The garlic bread knots with cheese and the deep dish pizzas are standouts for me along with the lasagna. The thin crust pizza could be a little crispier, but that's really more of a personal preference and it was perfectly acceptable as well. The Hostesses and register folks have all been really helpful, competent, and friendly. This place is in my opinion far more focused on the food than the "fancy". And that's not a bad thing for me. I imagine it's what allows them to consistently serve such high quality food at such reasonable prices. It'll absolutely stay on our "dining...
Read moreI’m literally mind blown over how horrific this experience was. I took my little boy out for a fun mommy son night and it was ruined by this restaurant. We waited 45 minutes and our server came to check in saying our food was being plated but they just gave away the last of my side so they needed to use something else. I was super cool about it and said no worries at all but I absolutely expect a discount since I won’t be getting what I ordered and it’s looking like an hour wait time. Everyone around us got their food. We just sat there and it finally came. We were tired so I was going to ask for a box but the server never came back to the table so I popped inside saw her on her phone and helped myself to the boxes by the door. When she brought the tab she said she took 10% off and didn’t charge me for a glass of wine. I was happy to pay for my two glasses of wine but absolutely expected at least 50% off the food since it wasn’t accurate and took an hour and had to sit there watching everyone around us eat. When I kindly let the server know what I expected in an extremely kind way she said she would look into it. Overall she was at least kind and respectful. The guy who came back to me was an embarrassment to the establishment. He said he didn’t care how long it took for us to get our food because they were busy and ordered me to pay. I of course gave him my card but I cannot get over how disrespectful and comfortable he was being that way. Hopefully the owners see this and make this right and at least talk to this awful man. I will be making a phone call to be sure this is also reported. It feels strange leaving a review like this as I only see the best in these restaurants but this was by far not okay and absolutely...
