Read moreWe were heading north on the interstate. We were trying to find a restaurant unlike any other. BULLEYE!! We dont eat fast food. It was only a quick jump off the interstate. The Wrigley is located in downtown Corbin, Ky. The ambiance was definitely interesting and welcoming. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We arrived at happy hour and ordered their wings. 6 for $7. We got 6 house made buffalo and 6 of their house made asian sauce. They were snaller, but that's no complaint, as they were perfect. Cooked crisp without being flabby or fatty wings. Both sauces were delicious. We had a hard time choosing our dinner as the menu was superbly laid out. We had the salmon BLT tacos with the sprouts. They were perfectly seasoned. The salmon was juicy and not dry. The sprouts were amazing. Crispy, mildly spicy and perfectly balanced in sweetness. We were sat at the bar next to the owner. Its obvious that she not only loves what she does, but the values her customers and employees. It's rare these days to see a business owner have so much regard for detail. She definitely is in tuned with her vision and holds true to creating and delivering a high quality food experienc. We also tried the special....the holy shroom burger. Every aspect was spot on. The mushrooms were seasoned perfectly and flavorful. The burger was not a frozen patty but made in house. I have to say this is one of the best restaurants I've eaten at in a very long time. The beer selection was very good. The cocktails were also well crafted. High quality food at a reasonable price. The service was very attentive and friendly. I will make it a point, to come back. Thank you so much for such a good meal and overall experience. I'd give this place 10 stars if I could. In a time were restaurants seem to be cutting corner and raising prices.....the Wrigley left no corner cut. I cannot say enough good things...
Read moreAhhh, the Wrigley Taproom & Eatery. It was quite the refreshing place to be in. A nice low-lite ambiance with cool music somewhere between inaudible and audible. The foot was quite great. I had the Cluckinator. A fried chicken breast between a bun with with a pleasant garlic aioli, a fresh lime sauce, lettuce, and pickles. The highlights of this sandwich are the chicken breast and the pickles! This is easily one of the best friend chicken I have had. How they battered it and kept it so juice, but built so much flavor into it, it just must be tried. And the pickles are slap of tasty surprise. They are made in house, and whoever is making these pickles really knows what they are doing. Somehow they were able to separate sourness from tang and deliver both, perhaps it was the lime sauce expertly complimenting these pickles. Hard to really make out, but I will be going back to discern it better. I also ordered the brussel sprouts which come with an ancho chili sauce and these sure do come packed with tastiness. Anyone that doesn't like brussel sprouts because of the bitterness of cruciferous vegetables, I can assure you that these have their bitterness cooked out of them and taken over by the ancho chili sauce. An unusual flavor for sprouts was quite satisfying for my taste buds.
I finished this meal off with the Appalachian sundae. If you see the picture it looks like a burger exploding from the sides with white puffy clouds! The sesame seeds were the most surprising here. Not only do they give the impression of a burger, but the way the sesame seeds interact with the chocolate and the whipped cream, is one of those things that sounds perplexing at first thought, but then becomes completely clarifying when experienced. If you like chocolate try this dessert. It comes with chocolate ice cream and a Nutella sauce. Another excellent item on the menu. I will be going again...
