Came in to eat breakfast this morning. Scrambled eggs were good but had unidentified crunchy pieces in them... egg shells maybe? The biscuits are more like rolls. We're from Tennessee so maybe biscuits in Mississippi are different. The gravy that everyone says is so great wasn't and it was cold. The pork tenderloin & sausage were good. The cook was friendly. The man taking money was nice. The old lady waitress was just hateful to the man who was collecting money. The little restaurant itself was pretty neat but absolutely disgusting with the thick layers of dust hanging off of all of the license plates and decorations. The cook & waitress were not wearing gloves when touching any of the food. I didn't see anyone wash their hands one time. That could make someone sick. They don't give you a ticket you just tell the guy what you ordered. Not a good idea to leave that box open with all that money just sitting there. Anyone could walk by and grab it and keep walking. We may eat there again it wasn't terrible but I think they need to work on safe handing of food and cleaning the...
Read moreThe first happy face to greet us was Abe. What an honor to eat at a place like this. They have been in business 53 years! He operated it with his lovely wife for years until his son joined the crew. Now they run it as a family, and you sure can tell! This place provides home cooking and authentic kindness.
Many of the people we talked to had been eating there for years. It can get a little close quarters inside with the bar-style seating, but there is seating outside as well. The food was amazing (steak, eggs, bacon, and biscuits - omgosh, the biscuits are so good - you will love them even if you don't normally like biscuits 😋). We even got homemade chocolate syrup, yuuummmm).
They are only open Monday-Thursday, so get in or get it to-go while you can! This place is a true GEM! THANKS ABE. YOU ARE A...

I don’t know how many times we were thanked for stopping in good conversation a lot of locals they knew we weren’t from here automatically because we weren’t regulars cool decor. They don’t bother with us price ticket. He just asked what we had. He was right there by the counter, just putting money in the till. he even asked me about my gluten intolerance when I said I couldn’t eat the biscuits so he offered grits. Eggs were perfect. Bacon was awesome and my husband said that’s the best gravy he’s had on his biscuits. This is a must stop place if you’re going from Florence, Alabama Iuka, Mississippi, Selmer, Tennessee, or Corinth, Mississippi where it’s located .
