Nestled in the heart of downtown, Cornelia, GA, Farmacia Trattoria delivers an authentic Italian dining experience that transports you straight to the cobblestone streets of Italy. From the moment you step inside, the warm ambiance, adorned with rustic wooden beams and soft, ambient lighting, sets the perfect stage for a delightful evening.
Atmosphere: The restaurant has a charming, cozy feel, ideal for both romantic dinners and family gatherings. The building was once a pharmacy and the walls are lined with photos of vintage pharmaceutical bottles and artwork. Shelves in the front entrance are filled with many of these old bottles, creating a welcoming yet sophisticated vibe. There are two wood fired ovens and an open kitchen so you can enjoy watching the chefs make all of the wonderfully delicious food. The soft strains of classic Italian music play in the background, enhancing the overall experience without overpowering conversation.
Service: The staff at Farmacia Trattoria were attentive and knowledgeable. Our server, Mackenzie, was friendly and eager to share her favorites from the menu. She made excellent recommendations. Service was prompt but unhurried, allowing us to savor each course.
Food: The menu is a delightful homage to traditional Italian cuisine, offering a range of antipasti, pasta, and secondi piatti. We started with the Artisan bread basket which included a delicious whipped ricotta drizzled with Sicilian olive oil and fresh cracked pepper. It was light, fresh, and bursting with flavor. We also shared the veal and ricotta meatballs over an amazing polenta topped with freshly grated Parmesan.
For the main course, I chose the Casarecce Al la Carbonara with house-made pasta with guanciale. My husband had Bucatini with Sicilian Pork Rib Ragout. Our friends had the Doppio Truffle Wagyu Beef Ravioli, filled with two fillings, one ricotta and one beef, topped with shaved truffles and a delicious sage veal au jus. The pastas were all cooked to perfection, evoking memories of our recent trip to Sicily and other parts of Italy. We also enjoyed a Margarita pizza from the wood fired pizza oven. The pizza was reminiscent of Napoli. It was amazing.
Dessert: We couldn’t resist finishing our meal with a taste of a couple desserts. Fresh, house made gelato, an olive oil lemon cake, and affogato. All were amazing. It was the ideal sweet ending to a fantastic meal. Next time we will try the Tiramisu. It also looked fantastic.
Overall: Farmacia Trattoria is a gem for anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine. With its charming atmosphere, attentive service, and delicious food, it’s a place I would recommend to anyone looking for a taste of Italy. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a night out, this restaurant is sure to impress.

Read moreWent there with a party of 6. We were greeted and seated promptly by the maitres. We stated to our waitress that it is our first time, so we would like to try a variety of items to split a try and then add more of what we may enjoy. So, as soon as water service was being poured, we put in artisanal bread, caesar salad, bucatini, pizza calabrese. The salad came out in 10 mins, which was fine, but the dressing was a little over powering with cheese ( never asked if we wanted fresh cracked pepper). Then after another 5 minutes, the bread comes out ( nothing special don’t waste your money if your gonna get pizza, but the ricotta and oil was very nice and fresh would have been nice again to be asked if anyone wanted fresh cracked pepper on it). After that another 15 minutes goes by an the pizza rolls out. At that point we are at 30 mins an we asked hey we did put a pasta dish in correct? The lady said yes. We said ok. So we began eating the pizza. It was good but, super soggy. May have just been the style we ordered I’ll explain why I think so later. After finishing the pizza a few more minutes roll by, an a bus girl or food runner comes by to pick up our plates and I said we are still waiting on a pasta. She said no worries let me just get these dishes out an provide you new ones. So we said ok, but we were fine. I grab our waitress as she walks by an ask again hey are you sure we have the ordered pasta? She says yes. So I said at this point may as well put something else in cause we weren’t sure, an everyone was getting frustrated cause they wanted to try one of everything before putting in more food. Anyways we put in the sausage and fennel pizza. We are going on a hour now, she then goes your correct let me go ask maybe it will come out when your second pizza comes. She walked pass our table to the kitchen, made U-turn and went back up front didn’t ask anyone anything. A few minutes go by, a the pasta comes out and a minute later the second pizza comes out. The pasta was very nice, the meat sauce needs some more seasoning to keep up with the pasta. The second pizza was much crisper, as I mentioned earlier the first one was soggy an i feel the reason behind that was the excess of the Calabrese chili oil. So in short, it’s a beautiful place, the server was nice, the chef is working his tail off. They charged me an automatic gratuity of 22%. Which I would have happily have paid if my food would have come out. I felt that was ridiculous, considering we were vocal about our food missing over and over for a hour an offered nothing for compensation due to whatever miss hap happened. (An they have to tell you a story about the place to keep it authentic or get...
Read moreI must tell you about a new Italian restaurant in Cornelia called Farmacia Trattoria it was Sooooo good! This new addition to the community is the brainchild of same people who gave you Community Brew & Tap (CB&T)….Cornelia’s Old “Bank and Trust”. Everyone loves CB&T as its “Top of the class” attitude sets it apart as the areas special occasion place to eat.
And so, they’ve done it again!!! Just a couple of doors down from CB&T is Farmacia Trattoria!! We booked a New Years Eve dinner reservation (recommended) and arrived on-time and was seated ever though the place was packed.
What a cool place!!! Now they’ve taken over the Old Full Stocked Pharmacy! We’re talking about 75-year-old medicines all on display and woven into the layout of the restaurant. 100” HD Picture-like displays cover the walls and rotate between some of the different medicine’s left behind. Man, I never realize how many old medicines made back then could kill you, but they have the proof. 😊 And at the back of the restaurant is the Kitchen featuring the two giant Pizza Ovens. Very impressive.
We started with the Crispy Artichokes as an Antipasti. WOW, this dish was off the chain. This dish takes artichokes were artichokes have never been. The taste, nothing at all you would expect from an artichoke appetizer. We love things crispy and this rich dish is a winner. I also got a Caeser salad and you usually have to ask for anchovies (typically only in nice restaurants offer them) but at Farmacia it’s the Standard. I love a good Caeser salad. For dinner we had the Wagyuy Beef Ravioli and the Duck Rolatello. I can’t even begin to describe the flavors and richness of these authentic artisan Italian dishes taken to a new level. As expected, we couldn’t finish our dinners but saved room for dessert. We ordered the Tiramisu. Again WoW! Soooo good. The best I’ve ever had. The crushed salt on the top was the Kicker (see pic)! Awesome job y'all.
Fallon (our waitress) did an awesome job as well as others that all seem to pitch in to make the experience pleasurable. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very positive as the GM Alison seems to run a tight ship. She used to wait at CB&T and was their best server. She seemed to know most of the guesses and explains why the place is so happy. And my compliments to the Chief. Chief Jon’s scratch kitchen really sets themselves apart with the small touches and nuances each dish carries. Our service was spot for such a busy night. And if you get a chance, ask Fallon who her famous grandfather is! You can see it if you look hard. Can’t wait to come back and try...
