Five Stars is just not enough. If you like pound cakes, it is worth the drive. Even if I still lived in Atlanta I would drive up here (she ships too) to pick up these wonderful pound cakes. They are moist, flavorful and just like potato chips, you cannot eat just one slice. Once you try Ellen's pound cakes you will be ruined for life! While her website shows you some of the wonderful morsels, there are many other flavors she makes. You will be disappointed if you only buy the small size, you will get home and realize that you wanted the full size. My husband and I love treating ourselves to lunch at Farmhouse Pound Cakes every month or so. The sandwiches are so wonderful -- every element is carefully composed. The breads are freshly made and pressed to crispy perfection. They also seem to roast the turkey and ham in house. I love the turkey with fig jam and the caprese on homemade focaccia. We had the Ploughman's Lunch today and tried the hot pimento cheese dip as well. Stellar on all counts. Don't forget to get a poundcake to take home. Love the lemon, but they're all phenomenal! Farmhouse Pound Cakes is a gem! Ellen creates the most delicious baked goods, from moist cupcakes to rich pound cakes and perfectly chewy chocolate chip cookies. Her treats never disappoint!
