I've gone here six times so far -- 3x on a week day and 3x on a Sunday. I'm done going on Sundays. Both times they were "out of sweet tea". Hello, how long does it take to make an urn of sweet tea? 5 minutes? This last week, we went in and it took several minutes for someone to come over and show us to a table. Several open and more were dirty. We were seated and someone (not our waitress) brought us drinks, but wasn't the one to take our order apparently. While waiting, we heard the cook call out -- we're out of bacon and out of chicken. So no sweet tea, bacon or chicken -- were they surprised that people showed up to eat? We waited TWENTY minutes for someone to take our order -- no one came. We saw waitresses standing around talking to each other. There were two people wrapping silverware nearby. One was scrolling her phone. We finally just got up and went down the street to Jack's for lunch. I haven't had problems on weekdays, but, I'm finished trying on Sundays. Disappointing.
Addition….. We hoped maybe we caught them on a bad day and gave it another try for Sunday brunch. Ordered the avocado BLT (The T is for turkey) on sourdough sandwich. What we received was a gooey (way too much mayo) turkey sandwich without bacon or avocado. There was one leaf of slimy lettuce on the sandwich. I have a photo. I had to ask twice for avocado before I got some smeared in A styrofoam cup delivered by a waitress who seemed really put off by my request. With tip, my tab was $40. I don’t think getting what I had ordered really should have been inconvenient. I was not rude and I did not complain. But I really AM done with...
Read moreToday was my first time coming in. I will say at the start of my visit, this place started out real strong and then slowly dwindled off. That’s why it received 3 stars. Started out with happy faces, really nice employees. My coffee was amazing. The server said it was made with love! 10/10. I got the Carmel cinnamon smile. My egg Benedict was really good and the potatoes as well. Was not a fan of the grits. After we received our food was when the service dwindled down. She did not check on us till we were almost done and we needed syrup. The syrup that was on the table was only 1/8 full. Which was barely enough for one pancake. Waited a while for silverware to eat our food. My bf sat without a drink refil for some time. Finally after being done eating, we sat for a while, waiting for the server to come back. We asked for Togo coke and the check out was weird. Do not expect a paper receipt where you can discretely pull your money out and pay. The server stands right there as you count your money. When I asked for a paper receipt, she said she can print on out after. I personally do not like when a server hovers over me while I’m trying to count my money to pay. So as we sat waiting for her to come back with our Togo drinks, I set the tip on the table. When the server comes back, she goes “oh is that for me” I said “yes” and she reached right over to in front of me to grab the tip. It was obviously for her as it was sitting on top of the receipt(received after we paid) It was weird and kind of rude. Not a horrible enough experience to make us not want to come back, but also not super enticing to...
Read moreUpdate: The owners here are awesome. Chris reached out to get an understanding of my experience and offer my family and I another opportunity to dine again. This speaks volumes concerning their level of customer service.
We dined today for Father’s Day and we all enjoyed it. The food was hot and delicious. Our waitress was attentive and very efficient and kind. Our order was delivered accurately and the sweet tea was bomb!
Thank you Chris! I’ve updated my review.
I came in on my birthday and it was a major disappointment. I arrived and the table and floor were dirty. I asked for the area to be cleaned. It was hastily cleaned and I was given a cloth to complete the job. I should have left then.
I am not sure if it was a communication issue between the waitress and the kitchen. It resulted in my food lacking horribly. I ordered an omelet with cheese, tomatoes, and sausage. I received a a brown omelet that was dry with no tomatoes. I asked for scrambled eggs with cheese and tomatoes. I received an egg with cheese on top and cold tomatoes. The cheese was not melted nor cooked in the egg. I ordered hot tea and had to ask for a clean mug because the one I was brought was not clean.
I lost my appetite at this point. I halfheartedly tried to eat the grits- they were lumpy and had hard pieces in them.
I decided to end this experience, paid and left. The restaurant wasn’t busy so not sure what the issue was, but it was disappointing! I didn’t take pictures. I just...
