Visited a few times for their bourbon selection. Tonight, the bar was full so we sat at a table. And by full I don’t mean the place was packed, just people spread out at the bar so we chose a table instead.
First round of drinks went well and the server was attentive, came out quickly after we sat down. We asked about several high end bourbons, talked about what was good, so she knew we had intent to try several things, many of which were on the high end of the spectrum. But, after the first round, forget it.
We like to try several bourbons, order multiple mixed drinks and usually have at least a $200+ tab (just alcohol) between the two of us. Plus 20% tip. Well, tonight our tab was sub $50 cause the server never came back.
She walked past the table a couple times, going to other tables, never once asking if we wanted another round. There was another girl who was helping as well and it was the same service with her.
After 25 minutes without her stopping in we decided not to seek any additional drinks and had to walk up to the bar and ask for the check. Which seemed to irritate her.
We then went across the parking lot and got great service at a different establishment. We will not be back.
It blows my mind that as a server/bartender who earns a good portion of their income on tips which also correlates to how big the tab is, that they wouldn’t be all over making sure a customer who was clearly willing to spend and order several drinks wasn’t constantly checked on. It was like we didn’t exist after that first round of drinks. And even the mixed drinks / wine that were ordered were long gone so it’s not like she assumed we were content with them. Though as I mentioned, it was very evident we were there to try several different bourbons as...
Read moreWent here for a friend‘s birthday. Was hesitant to come from south end and drive all the way up to this bar, but was assured it was worth it. It was not. They had a performer there who was pretty good. If you are looking for a bar with a bunch of older married couples, this is the place to go. For those looking for something else, this is not it. Not to mention and what I am most upset about, is the fact that I paid $32 for one drink. Yes, you read that correctly one drink for $32. Some weird rule of theirs about substituting a spirit in one of their cocktails. And the whiskey of choice was NOT a high end one . Not to mention, the cocktail itself was short. I have lived many places in my life, and never heard of this .an increase of $12. Not a place I will ever be back to. Or recommend.
UPDATE : please read managements response below. The cocktail was 20 dollars. A manhattan. Then they charged additionally for a 2 oz pour of the substituted whiskey, then additional charge for making a manhattan ….. that I ordered . Yeah...
Read moreThe owner is very rude plain and simple. I like the place, like the servers, I’ve been here many times and haven’t had any problems other than the way that guy acts. I’ve never argued with him or at the place. I think he’s profiling me for the way I look but that’s unfounded I just have no idea what his problem is so I’m left to assume he’s jealous. Today isn’t the first time he’s been rude but it was significant, leading me to write this review. I even asked one of the servers what his problem is with me and she said she didn’t know. I’m sure this guy won’t miss my money but I can tell you his arrogance is astonishing. Shoutout to the high west rep who tried to reach out and make the lousy situation better. Thank you for...
