I wish I had checked the reviews before coming here. Honestly, after the experience I had, I'm not sure I will ever visit another Macaroni Grill. Where do I start? My family and I decided to go out for Thanksgiving dinner. We reserved a table for 5, and we got there. Everything was great; they sat us down right away. The place wasn't very busy for being one of the few places open on Thanksgiving night. We ordered some appetizers, and we each ordered a plate. The first red flag we should have known was that it took a very long time to get our food, even the appetizers. Then, when we asked for more bread, they never brought it out.
Here's the kicker: one of my boys got the chicken Alfredo and wanted to add shrimp. So when they brought out everyone's food, his plate only had the shrimp. They said they would replace it. My other son had ordered a steak, and he wanted it done medium well, meaning very little to no pink. Well, let's just say this thing still had its legs and was probably walking 2 minutes before it got to our plate. We all finished our food, and my son still had not gotten his pasta. My other child could not eat the steak because it was still bleeding on the plate. When I brought this to the attention of the server, she said, "Oh, I'll let them know," and walked away. It took another 15 minutes to come back with our check, saying, "Here you go." I expected that they would have taken the steak off of the check because my son did not eat it. Instead, she brought us some $10 off coupons for the next time we go.
So I told her that I was not going to be paying for the steak that was not cooked properly and the way we asked. She JUST LAUGHED and said she would let her manager know. Then she came back with another receipt but with only ten dollars off a twenty-seven dollar plate that my son couldn't eat. Not only did she just throw the receipt down and say, "Here's the new check," and not even want to talk but walked away, I had to wait another 10 minutes just to tell her I would like to speak to your manager. Then, the manager came out with a smug look on her face. She was very rude and inhospitable when I told her about the situation. She said, "Well, why didn't you tell us as soon as he cut into it? So we could have cooked it more for WHAT??" I've never experienced anything like this ever in my entire life. I've never had such bad service, unbelievable. It's probably the worst ever. But now I understand why this place has such low ratings. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Don't waste your money, the so-called "Manager." I didn't get her name because it's not worth knowing, and the staff here are incompetent and extremely rude. Even when I paid, the server, Brooke, snatched my credit card from my hand in a very aggressive and...
Read moreWe arrived and we're seated promptly. After ten minutes, we asked if we could get drinks and if our server was assigned to our table yet. We were brought drinks by a second server who told us that our waiter was coming shortly. We were told our server's name was *. Bread was brought after we requested it twice. It was brought by another server. I requested a build your own pasta sheet, and * walked away after saying, "Yeah." Approximately ten more minutes passed, and * returned. He asked to take our order, and I reminded him I had asked for a build your own pasta sheet. He said, "Oh, yeah. Hold on." He came back with the sheet and we ordered. We also asked for drink refills. Included in what we ordered were two tomato soups. After fifteen minutes, our entrees came. It was brought by different servers. I inquired about our soups. The female server said she would check. She came back a few minutes later with the rest of our main dishes. She asked if we needed anything else. I asked for our tomato soups. She said she would check with *, our server. He came by our table to offer cheese. I asked for our tomato soups. He left and returned with one soup. I looked at it, and asked, "Is that tomato soup?" He said, "No. It looks like minestrone." He returned to the kitchen and brought back another bowl of soup. This time it was tomato. I reminded him again how we had ordered two soups, but to please take the second soup off the check. When I took the first spoonful of soup, it was cold. I ate my main dish, and we asked for refills again on our drinks. * returned and we asked for to-go containers and the check. He said, "OK" and walked away. He returned with the containers and the check, set them on the table and walked away. I asked another server to speak to the manager. I NEVER complain to a manager at restaurants. I know food service is a difficult job. * came back over and picked up two of our empty plates, and said, "Yeah, the manager will be over in a second." He walked away without taking any of the other plates. The manager came over and I told him I never complain at restaurants, but the service was terrible. He was apologetic and took the check to take some items off. I was facing where the wait staff works to input items into the system and print up the checks, and watched our server ** throw a wadded up piece of napkin or paper over the manager's shoulder while he smirked and shook his head. The manager, brought the check back. I told him his server was the rudest server I had ever experienced. The manager again apologized and said he would address it.
I understand the manager addressed the issue, but this was terrible. The worst I have ever experienced.
Please never ever go to Romano...
Read moreThis place was absolutely atrocious. After attending a funeral my family we wanted to go and dine here. We had a problem back in February 2022 and I actually spoke with the manager Rueben and he told me please give us another opportunity he said if you’re going to come, please let me know. What I found out Rueben was on disability so we decided to take the leap of faith and to try it again a year later again I can’t tell you how disgusted I was with the place after going into the men’s restroom it smelled terrible, and I noticed that there was no bath towels. I kindly mentioned to my waitress, but she kind of just blew me off. She didn’t even take the time to respond and say OK. We’ll go ahead and we’ll take care of it. She then provided us with stale bread and then she was very pushy wanting to take our order. We then decided to order an appetizer and we were still looking over the menu and she then came over again and I said why don’t you just give us a few minutes. After noticing the bread was stale and her very dry personality I decided I did not wanna go through the same dining experience again so I decided that we just leave. I told her just bring us our bill will pay for our drinks and please cancel the appetizer She’s like don’t worry about it in a very condescending tone. She was not empathetic, or didn’t apologize for anything that I told her the reason why we wanted to leave. I then told her you know we had a very bad experience last time we were here and this experience wasn’t any better. I also mentioned to her that her personality was very dry, and not empathetic at all. Did she may want to work on her customer service? She did not apologize at all. She’s just like OK. I would highly stay away from this location. We then drove to the location in Tustin and we had a much better dining experience. There was a bath towels in the restroom. Our waitress was very nice and kind and the food was much better and we didn’t get stale bread. I guess each macaroni grill is different but I can tell you that this corona one is really bush league and I can tell you that nothing has improved. I hope someone takes the time to read this review because it doesn’t look like you guys are doing anything proactive to change your...
