Two days ago, I went to have my birthday dinner with my s/o, and we are from the opening day era who would tell everyone and their mothers about how great the place is. We have many memories and friendships made through this place, so it's a traditional visit for us.
To our disappointment, they have drastically changed. A huge reason my husband enjoyed coming here was the sweet potato fries, and we were informed by that once we finally got a server. (I'm not sure what he was doing, but it was around 20 minutes after we got a table when he showed up.)
I understand that the restaurant business is never 100% perfect, so that's not an issue, and our guy got a good tip for his service no matter what occurred.
A soda was ordered just before a question for the mango margarita and then two waters. We had our usual appetizer, the Chorizo Queso dip. Always the absolute best. Highly recommend it.
I was on the hunt for their pasta, and of course, it's changed to a Cajuin style w shrimp and mushrooms. I'm not a huge fan of either, so I was recommended to try Bacon Chicken Mac.
I've had this before as well, and it was amazing the first time, but I can definitely say they've changed the way it's made. I asked for extra chicken as well, thinking it would be the grilled filet cut into slices, and I was seriously disappointed to find small, unseasoned chicken chunks that were chewy and hard to enjoy.
The husband had the spicy chicken sandwich with fries, and that was immaculate 🤌✨️
I was lucky they gave him a huge chicken patty, and he sliced around the parts that didn't fit into his bread, and I substituted it with my Mac so I could eat. It saved the evening's meal for sure.
The server was overwhelmed, and we hardly saw him most of the evening, but the supervisors came over to us more than enough to make up for the tough spot he was in. Thanks for making your services easier on those guys. He kept up with refills and making sure we got everything we needed.
The service is great. The atmosphere is always good. Food? Needs to be looked at more closely and held to a higher standard like it was before. We didn't stay for dessert because we had a long way to go back home, unfortunately.
I've discussed the quality with some of my group who used to frequent the restaurant, and I'd say we can all agree the food quality has definitely changed from back in...

(2) U.S. Veterans returned to this location on a Sunday in Dec 2022 to speak with a manager about our experience on that Saturday around 1130hrs. We were redeeming our Veterans Day coupons issued to both of us on Veterans Day, that day (Saturday) and it was totally horrible.
When both Vets walked in we noticed about 9 workers at the front desk, and they just turned and looked at us, said nothing. We both stood to the side, and waited. After so long I interpreted them, and asked them can someone help us? A lady went to seat us next to the bar, and I didn't want to sit there. I walked to the middle area on the other side of the restaurant, and told her this is where we want to sit. She stated that this area was closed @ est. 1130hrs, huuun? She led us around the corner and tried to seat us in the back and told us this is your seats, wow!
I went to the front desk and asked for a manager. Few seconds later another person came to seat us in the same area we asked for, but we noticed a white woman and family were already seated that fast, wow. Then another Latino couple was seated in same area, wow. Was it because we were Black? We watched this happen right before our eyes. Wow this is how you treat (2) US Army Veterans? Stick them in the back in the corner, with the bar chairs that have holes in them? No way were we excepting this.
The waiter was great and couldn't believe we both went through this. I didn't want to address this matter that Saturday, so we did return the next day, Sunday and addressed this matter with the manager named STEPHEN.
I explained all that's listed above to STEPHEN, and he told me he would only comp (1) appetizer that's it. I told him it was (2) US Army Vets that experienced this horrible customer service that were trying to redeeming your Veterans Day Special. STEPHEN said that's all he can do, take it or leave it, wow! I pushed the written offer back to him and told him to keep it. He should have comped the whole meal for both attending VETS for another day,...
Read moreWe are visiting Corpus for the first time and saw great reviews on this place so we decided to stop by. We were here celebrating a birthday. The food was delicious! We had a pizza (custom), cajun wings (our fav) and garlic knots. So why are we rating this place a 2? Because of the horrible service. The waitress was polite but not attentive. When she brought out the appetizer, she left right away and we did not get any plates or napkins. We waited at least 5 minutes for her to come back and nothing. So instead we got up ourselves and got it. When she brought our food, she was polite but still no napkins. This time we started eating our meal and figured we would ask when she came around again (Mind you, the place was not crowded. Her area was pretty much empty, only 1 other table behind us). Finally after we were almost done with our meal she came around to bring the table behind us napkins and plates and we asked for napkins. I kid you not, she gave us 4 small napkins but had gave the table behind us a stack. Okay, so we ignored it and kept enjoying our food. Finally it was time for the ticket. We asked for boxes, which she brought but no lids for our sauces and no bag. So we asked for it and she seemed a little agitated. As we walked out, you heard a faint "thanks for coming" from her, but there was a group of like 6 servers standing there with her. Overall, we wouldn't come back because of the horrible service. I know anyone can have an off day but we are not being fed for free, we are paying customers and we like the great food to match the experience...
