Nothing I hate more than leaving hungry. Paid 15 bucks for 1PORK RIB, 1 SAS LINK and 2THIN SLICED PIECES OF BRISKET. Total rip. I remember the good old days in Robstown when we would leave stuffed. Those days are obviously over. Guess some portion nazi is more worried about the bottom line instead of return customers. With a tea, tip, and tax I dropped 20 bucks just to leave hungry. Do yourself a favor and find a Macs bbq.
Thanks for the response Chris but whether or not your intentions are to "jip" people on portions is irrelevant because that is the ultimate outcome. I have always judged restaurants on 4 things and each one of these things are critical to having a successful operation. 1 good food... 2 generous portions... 3 reasonable price.....4 good service. If any of these 4 are missing then I do not return. 2 of them are missing from your restaurant and it seems to me it's all about greedy bottom line nit picky unnecessary portion control while overcharging the customer for it. The portion I received today would be a light lunch at best and MAYBE worth 7.99 but instead I wasted 20 bucks. It's my own fault. I had the same issue at the Portland location when I made the mistake of trying it out. My brother told me the Calallen location was better but he was wrong. Not sure why anyone would eat at Cottens when Macs are all over town and treat their...
Read moreI loved it. I had a sausage sandwich on a bun, with a side of potato salad. I loved the cheese spread, had some on crackers , and then I spread some on my bun, put a little of the spicy sauce on it, and cut up my sausage into small bites . Sooooo good , the sausage had the perfect snap on the skin. Good seasoning , not bland and not spicy. I had each half open faced and took 1/2 home. The potato salad is good ol Texas mustard potato salad I grew up on , could use a little seasoning, and some of the potato chunks were too big , but overall good taste. I do not care for the onions , they are straight white, and I think way too strong. Also don't care for the pickles , I LOVE pickles , BUT these take sour to a whole new level , I say avoid them.I had a half piece of coconut meringue pie for dessert it was wonderful , very good crust , creamy coconut filling , the meringue stayed together but separated from pie way to easy , I could have just had a bowl of the filling with some Cool Whip. The service was very good and all servers work together my water was always full and someone was always checking on us. GOOD FOOD at...
