My husband and I moved to Corpus a few months ago, not far from the bar. We keep seeing it but had yet to stop in. My husband travels most.weeks. I was off, by myself and tired of being home alone so I decided to run up there, have a beer and check it out. See if it was a good place for us to walk over and have a drink sometimes. I went on a Tuesday night. It was not busy at all. Few people at the bar counter was it. First impression: pool tables, basketball hoops game, beer pong, shuffleboard, cornhole outside, good music playing. Hell, yes. A place for us to go, close to home. Then...service was terrible. I understand having the regulars and catering to them (we prob would have been). But, I got a beer, asked for quarters to play pool. Shot a couple games by myself, no one walked over to check on me. Went back to bar. Glass empty, finally asked if I wanted another. Got another, talked to hubbyon phone. The just listened to music. Glass empty...waited about 7 minutes (2 bartenders, 8-10 guests, including me). No one even glanced my way, so, I called out for my tab and left. Probably will not return. I had such high hopes. I will say, the guy manning the door, he was on it, always making it to the door to open it for guests and nice, upbeat attitude upon entering. That was were the welcome feeling ended though. Very disappointed. Really hoped to find 'our hangout place' close to home. We will...
Read moreI never really rate places...but this place is literally making me do it. I along with my spouse arrived there to have some us time. We arrived, were told we had to sit outside because the limit was reached inside (COVID) we waited 30 minutes outside and no service, while other people that arrived after us received service before us. The bouncer noticed we werenât being attended and made room for us inside. (Thank you) however when we went inside, we waited 30 minutes to have our drink order taken and thats because we called the waitress. We were brought our drinks, and we wanted another round. Nobody came to see if we wanted another round. I noticed that the waitresses were pretty much just serving the people that were already drunk. I told my boyfriend to go to the bar to see if he could order because people were ordering from the bar and receiving their drinks. He LASTED 30 MINUTES, and NOTHING. Needless to say, in 2 hours we drunk one margarita and one beer. Oh and another thing, the fact that my boyfriend paid 10 dollars to play music just to find out there WAS NO OPTION FOR LATIN MUSIC!?!?? Not one damn latin music was available to play. The majority of the population listens to latin music. People do not waste your time, money, and energy in this place. I assure you there is better here in corpus. One word to describe this...
Read moreIt's a bit difficult to give this review, especially because of tonight's staff. I have been coming to Murdock's for close to 7 years, and until recently the staff has been amazing and always 5 Star. This is a place that as a person who travels throughout Texas, and the US, has been proud to call their "go to" place. Over the last few weeks I've come by for a drink after work, and have felt just plain ignored. I've watched bartenders, bar backs, and waitresses carry on conversations while I wait to have my first drink order taken, mind you in a seamlessly empty bar(only people sitting at the bar). During one visit, just 2 days ago, a patron had to grab the attention of a bartender for me to get service, while I was standing at the bar drinkless, and the patrons next to me were being served their next rounds. Tonight I have received the same service I've grown accustomed to over the last 7yrs, on a Friday night the less. A big thanks to Dani, and the servers. Their service and hospitality is the only reason I did not give a 1 star review and recommend to my friends and clients to visit other...
