Pete's Chicken-N-More — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

My family and I went to this location last night. The 4 of us placed our order at 8:06PM according to the receipt. There was one other couple in the restaurant when we sat down and another couple came in a bit later. The first couple got their food quickly and not too long after that the other got theirs as well. We were all very hungry. I went to the counter to find out what was taking so long, but no one helped me so I went back to our table. The person that took my order was at one of the tables speaking to the customers there. I waited he was finished talking to go to the counter and ask where our food was. It was 8:36PM now. 30 minutes later. The man acted surprised that I was questioning him about where our food was. He went to the kitchen, but the cook said he never got an order. I asked the man what he was going to do about it then, thinking he would give us the meal for free or coupons for future. He said he would give us some sides, so I told him to give me our money back and he should have been aware that we hadn't been served because there were only 2 other tables occupied while we were there. He told me I should have told him after 10 minutes that we hadn't gotten our food and I told him again there were only 2 other couples in the store and he should have been able to keep up with who was in there with that few customers. I told him he was talking to the one table for 10-15 minutes and he told me I should have interrupted. He refunded the money and I asked who the manager was. The man told me he was the owner. I couldn't believe it. This man should take better care of all of his customers and know who he has helped. They were not busy and some how he lost track of one of table even though he was right next to us for 10-15 minutes at the other table. He did apologize, saying he's only human, but he never once tried to make it right and keep me as a customer. Word of mouth is a big thing and I will let many know of my bad experience with Pete's Chicken and the owner of this...

This location has a confusing drive through and is...sort of connected to a gas station. Luckily I guessed correctly and was able to order quickly. I arrived shortly before closing time. I noticed a sign on the side of the building that said it was not fast food, it was made to order. Noted. However, the staff was so thoughtful that when they felt I had been waiting long (roughly 10 minutes) I was brought out biscuits for the wait. An unexpected and kind gesture. While I was waiting, I noticed someone gently carrying out crickets that are seasonly a nuisance and placing them outside. I thought that was sweet. He was also the one to bring out my order and he wanted me to make sure my order was correct before I left. It seems they value caring and thoughtful people when hiring here. I ordered the Nashville Chicken sandwich and fried mushrooms. KFC used to have Nashville Chicken strips and since they stopped serving them, I haven't found any other location with a similar item until now. Considering how good the sandwich is, I hope it lasts here. Of course, I did have an incredibly fresh sandwich, but the bread was toasty and the chicken crispy and nothing sort of perfectly cooked. I was highly impressed. I got the fried mushrooms because it was suggested by a local . They were good and an interestingly different side. Now that I've been to both locations, there are three more things I must try on their menu before I bring over my picky eater family so I can give them an accurate...

The food is always so delicous there. One thing I love to say about it is the cleanliness of the place. Its so clean inside out. I mean u can taste the cleanliness. What do I mean? The Food Oil. The oil they use for the frying. U could tell its not recycled oil. I know it sounds gross but u can tell these things. The fries always taste so fresh. Theres a certain taste the food has. Like... Like, That they just bought brand new grills n fryers n your eating the first meal it made, kinda taste. I absolutely LOVE the way they make the burgers. Every bun has a proof of they toasted it on the grills mark. The chicken.. Man its soo crispy. Not burned.. Crispy. It has its own unique crispy u cant confuse it with any other chicken place. Love to dine in here.... Its just one problem... WHATS UP WITH UR D@MN FOUNTAIN MACHINE BRO??? That thing is disgusting. I know u guys make money. I know y all can buy one of those touch select soda machines. Ur killing me with that soda machine. I feel like yall trying to keep a little of the antique past wit yall. I went to get soda n the drain was clogged so it had all kinds of soda floating on the bottom. Come on man. Its gunna attract gnats. I really think an investment of a new upgraded soda machine is needed. Cuz that old school fountain dispenser is becoming an eyesore n dropping ur score.. I m still coming back. But gunna gripe n moan about the soda machine all the way...
