Taylor Center Deli — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

My mother-in-law just recently took me here for lunch while I had a day off. Ordered the Rueben and was shocked. It was... good. Solid Rueben with a good amount of corned beef, great, fresh bread, and top notch flavor, but... part of the sandwich was warm and another part was closer to room temperature. This could have been due to how I eat, as the part that was still warm was on bottom of the plate (sandwich halves were stacked) and the more room temperature part was near the top. No worries, still a great sandwich. ... but my mother-in-law ordered the hamburger. The hamburger is... amazing. Grilled, buttery buns, solid beef choice for the patty, fresh ingredients... it isn't anything super special to make it more than it is or fancy, just a solid, honest, homemade burger. Out of all of the burgers i've had in Corpus... this burger is the best, homemade burger in town.

I stopped by this deli which is a woman owned small business by the way, and the owner was super nice to me! I had walked there since I was on my way to my bank down the street, and it was VERY HOT!! It was so hot that I thought I was going to die on my way over there! When I walked into the deli I wasn't feeling very well, and I didn't have ANY money, so, the owner offered me a free glass of tea, and was just extremely nice. I drank my drink, then, walked on to get to my bank, but I went straight back there when I got done. I ended up getting the chicken salad sandwich on some delicious cranberry bread. Unsure at first, but totally on board after tasting this absolutely amazing meal! It was super GREAT...that sandwich was sooo sooo good I practically downed it in 2 seconds! Omg...I been bank there a few times since and they have been totally awesome every single time. I love...

You have to love this place. They have excellent fresh deserts. I have tried several and all were as good as they looked.

They make an outstanding chicken salad sandwich, placed upon their own walnut, cranberry bread.

The atmosphere is plain but exceedingly clean. The owner is almost always around and the staff is friendly.

They offer daily lunch specials.

2 21 23 A short update: have visited many times since this review was originally posted. Nothing has changed except they seem to offer more special deserts. Their sandwiches remain excellent, especially the chicken salad and the portobello mushroom.

You will not be disappointed with either their soups or cakes, all well...
