Long and honest review alert! This Saturday I picked up an order of 3 dozen cookies from Yolanda's for a baby shower, everything about my experience was awful. First, my friend that I needed the cookies for had her baby early(congratulations friend) on Thursday evening so I called First thing Friday morning to see about rescheduling the order; they could not find my order; asking me if it was under a different name or was I sure I ordered from there. Then they called me back to inform me that they found my order and can reschedule as long as I gave a week's advance notice. I then receive another phone call informing me that the manager was upset and stated I can not reschedule because of the detail of the cookies and because they had already started. How did they already start cookies when they could not find the order, also detail? The cookies were supposed to be a dozen and half solid colors and a dozen and a half flowers. They are a bakery they could have put them out to sell, the cookies were not very specific. I agreed to go get the cookies Saturday and they got the order wrong, they all have flowers and the flower looked nothing like the napkin I provided them with for visual and to top it off the cookies were hard as a rock. I gave them to my sister to hand out at my nephews party where nobody ate them because of how hard they were. I had people approach me telling me they are sending me their dental bill. I work so much that I had completely forgot to shop around & place an order. I called 2 days prior to my son's party & I was told that I could submit the picture of the cake that I was wanting, along with instructions on how I wanted it & they could have it made. I was very happy they were able to get me in last minute. I submitted my order through email like they requested. I decided to follow up the next day around 1 pm since I had never got a confirmation. They had never checked the email & apologized up front about it. I requested that there be filling in the cake & the total came out to $107. I was a little shocked at the price, but I figured it was fair considering the last minute order. I picked up the cake & it looked great! We cut the cake up at the party & noticed that there wasn't any filling. We were already halfway through the cake & still no filling. I called & was told that a manager would be calling me back on Monday. Well here it is 3:00 on Monday & I still didn't get a call. I had to call them to inquire about the message I left. The manager told me that he had gotten the message & took my name & address down so they could mail me a check. I was disappointed that he didn't even bother to follow up with me after he received the message. I wouldn't be so upset if my message had been acknowledged. I went in on Friday, at the last minute, and ordered a birthday cake for the next morning at 10:15 AM. I knew it was short notice and I told them if they couldn’t prepare one for that time , or in such short notice , that it was fine I would understand. Quite the contrary, though, they were more than agreeable, The man I was working with was very nice, I believe Joe was his name. I think I met Yolanda ,the owner , and she was extremely nice and all were willing to.meet my deadlines. I went in yesterday, Saturday morning, and the cake was ready for me to go. Such a nice group of people to work with. The cake was beautiful, Decorated so nicely, and it was so moist, and everybody that tasted some. Of it was very impressed as well. I will definitely buy from Yolanda’s Specialty cakes from now on. It is nice to be greeted by friendly people willing to provide a good service to the public, and do it with a smile , at such good and reasonable prices, and especially accommodate You at the last minute . I have shopped at other bakeries in town that have totally made my shopping experience a nightmare, and have lost orders for cakes, and I’ve paid in advance and went to pick the cake up, and the cake was not even there, and they didn’t know what happened to it, but Yolanda’s was right on the mark, they knew exactly who I was, they knew what cake I ordered and when, and they were there and happy to be of service.
