Dickey's Barbecue Pit — Restaurant in Corsicana

Following cshurch on Sunday, we decided to go to dickey’s for dinner. There were no people there at the time. Only the workers. Two of them. I ordered the three meat plate and also a one meat plate for the person who was with me. It totaled $44. While waiting on our order, there were several customers who came and ordered leaving with their order as we continue waiting for our order for a long period of time, Unfortunately, when the food was served to us, it was cold and very skimpy. It appeared to be a child’s plate. I got two strips of brisket that was cold and dry, chicken breast that was cold, two strips of ribs that were totally overcooked, cold and extremely not chewable. Also, along with mac & cheese and fried okra. The mac & cheese was OK just a little too cool. The okra tasted as though it was fried in old oil. I did ask the worker to warm my plate for me hoping that he would see that the plate wasn’t right in the first place. He then brought it back on a double tray saying that the tray was too hot. The tray was but the food was not. The person who was with me was displeased with her plate as well. For $44, there were very, very small servings of everything and of the food was poor. My husband and I are from out of town, we decided to try Dickey’s for our supper, we chose to use the drive-thru, some of the side items we requested was sold out, but that wasn’t a big deal to us because all their side orders are things we like, we ordered from what they still had to offer, the young lady that took our order was very pleasant and smiling when interacting with us, we didn’t have to wait long for our food and when we arrived back at our motorhome and sat to eat, everything looked and tasted great. My ribs were tender and my bread was fresh and soft to the touch, my potato salad was very good and my okra was cooked perfectly, my husband said his was just right aswell. We were very pleased with the food and the service we received from the pleasant young lady at the drive thru that took our order, We look forward to returning soon for another delicious meal. Today was the 1st time I have been here, the worst part is I'm 51 years old and just now found it. The food was delicious and the service was more than great. Jason introduced me to the manager and his #1 employee, they were all incredibly nice. Also I'm visiting Corsicana taking a few classes till next week there was a regular customer that was kind enough to point me in the direction of a good church to go to tomorrow (Sunday). The prices are fantastic, the food is wonderful and the service is outstanding. I gave them 5 stars become that is as many as I could. The customers would have made it more.
