I’ve always loved this place until today.. they don’t have vegetarian friendly beans or rice - even though on their menu it is called ‘veggie burrito’. So, I ordered the veggie burrito (like I have 3 or 4 times before) and asked to sub out the beans and rice with some veggies. The waitress did not say A WORD about charging for each individual veggie, or the salsa. Well, the bill came and they had charged me for the veggie burrito (as to be expected), and about $6 for the few peppers, onions, mushrooms and spinach that made my burrito instead of the beans and rice that I can’t eat. This has never happened prior to today. Same waitress as last time and I ordered this same exact thing. Manager didn’t care either when this issue was brought up. They charge you for salsa, instead of providing it with a burrito?? All in all, I spent about $15 for a half filled burrito (about half the size of their ‘reg’ burritos) that had peppers, onions, spinach and mushrooms and cheese in it; a couple pieces of greens and chopped tomatoes, about a TBSP of guac and sour cream, and salsa. Not impressed that I have gotten this same thing before and they were able to SUB items vs charging more. If I didn’t add veggies, due to no options for vegetarian rice or beans, I would have had myself just cheese in the burrito. It sucks, cause we loved going here and they were accommodating in the past to the particular order, multiple times. Around $9, what it usually is - sure. But screw paying $15 for a half filled burrito that consists of...
Read moreWriters block - the only thing that springs to mind as I try to write this review, The solution? Express my feelings for Beny’s diner in a rime or 2. Not too long ago in Cortez, Colorado, My stomach was gurgling to the Eagle’s song Desperado As I look around all I can think about is food and my bed, But miraculously in my desperation I spotted a sign that read: “Beny’s Diner, open daily” Oh blimey, that sounds like the place for me! I walk in, with little to no expectation, After all, this is nothing more than a simple food station. As I gaze upon the menu, my face lit up anew Look Ryan, it has pictures for illiterates like you! The service was impeccable, the food unforgettable, Even the price on my check was very respectable, I walked out of the diner, my stomach was full, My day was saved, and my worries were null, So my dear Deny, where ever you are, Please know that for ever I will be wishing upon a star, I will be begging to each and every deity, My desires are simple, and full of purity For all I have is one simple demand: To cross your path again, you...
Read moreThis afternoon I took a family of ten out to eat and the waiter was so rude. He offered the most minimal help I’ve ever witnessed in helping us find a place to sit. His only attempt was to sit us at a very small table with 6 chairs even after I told him we have ten people so we came back to the front and asked if we could move a table together and he said no we can’t due to the rules but then he stood there and said nothing constructive to help us figure it out and acted as if we were annoying him. I expected him to give us solutions but his attitude was saying he’d rather us leave. I’m disappointed as I’ve had a lot of good experiences there and never once treated so poor. We tipped him well and hope he has a better day. I don’t think we’ll come back but hope they do better with helping people with solutions and not treating them so...
