If I could I would give 0 ⭐️. Never have I had such a terrible experience at a restaurant. The moment we walked in and my family and I were being seated ; our waiter and im assuming the manager was giving us dirty looks. Our waitress was a young girl and we told her thank you over and over and NOT ONCE did she ever say “You’re welcome./ You’re very welcome “ It was such a terrible feeling and I definitely did not feel welcomed there. So many dirty looks , terrible customer service, and the manager in RED was also giving us dirty looks. I couldn’t even enjoy my food. I have to say as a Latina/ Mexican , I was getting “racist “ vibes there. Will not be going back ever again. Also, there’s only a single restroom for Women?? I had to wait in line it’s to use the restroom and another rude employee cut in front in me as I was walking into the restroom. I was in disbelief. Why have such a big restaurant and only put one toilet private women bathroom? RIDICULOUS. 👎 I don’t usually write reviews but I honestly had to put...

Now through September 30, 2015, Ruby’s Diner has a new shake called the Muddy Gummy Goody Shake. For those you who remember “Cup of Dirt” from the 1990s, this will be a blast from the past for you and something new for the kids to get them ready for the Halloween season. It starts with chocolate ice cream blended with crushed Oreos and is then topped with whipped cream and gummy worms. It is nice and creamy creamy with crunchy Oreo bits inside for texture. The gummy worms are sweet and chewy. If you don’t want to eat them, the kids will certainly will. Rating: 4/5.5

Irish Nachos are fried RubySpuds smothered with melted cheddar and jack cheeses, crispy corned beef hash, crumbled thick-cut bacon, sour cream, and green onions. It is the perfect salty, savory flavor balance to compliment the shake. The cheese is gooey. The corned beef hash is a good meaty component. The bacon adds a smoky, salty flavor. The sour cream and green onions add a refreshingly cooling flavor to the...

Absolute worst experience I have ever had at a diner.

If I could leave 0 stars I absolutely would.

We were seated and the server never even introduced herself and completely left us hanging. Typically, the first question you are asked is what would you like to drink? We didn't even get that. Left forgotten at our table and it's been over 30 mins.

I walk into to inform them that we have been seated and haven't seen a server in over 30 mins. Was told they will inform our server. Still NOTHING. Meanwhile another table right next to us were full of caucasians diners and all have been checked on several times. I hate playing the race card. I never do, but this really felt like we were discriminated against as our table were Hispanics and Asians.

We got fed up and walked out and weren't even acknowledge. Clearly they didn't want our business so we will gladly take out...

Family Day Idea! Visit South Coast Plaza in the spring. Depending on how you do this, you can spend a lot of money or very little. I always do the carousel with my kids since it is only $2! This year we also splurged for a birdhouse Craft! 🍔Nearby Food Recs to Pair with this Outing: Ruby’s Diner: Kids Eat Free Tuesdays after 4pm Red Robin: 50% off Kids Meals Wednesdays Claim Jumper: Kids Eat Free Mondays The Kebab Shop: Kids Eat Free Weekends

8 Free/Affordable Things My Kids Love at South Coast Plaza! I laid this out in chronological order so you can have this exact same adventure from start to finish! Psst - Santa is at the end of the adventure, if you were looking for a spot to take photos. They have photo packages as low as $10. Start in the Crate and Barrel wing, where you can look at one of the most incredible Christmas trees in existence (not exaggerating) and ride a Santa train around it for $2 per child. Note: kids have to be under 50 inches as the train seats are pretty small. If you are hungry, stop and eat at Ruby’s nearby, which has kids eat free starting at 4pm on Tuesdays. Visiting in the morning? There is also a Starbucks by the bottom of the tree ☕️ Make your way up to the 3rd floor and cross the sky bridge, which will take you to an elevator down to the 2nd floor where you can walk to the main mall. Depending on the time of week, you might see carolers here! Next, take the glass elevator inside the mall down to the first floor and admire the other massive tree at South Coast Plaza. Hang left and walk pass the beautiful water feature/fountain. Eventually you will reach the winter village, Santa, and the reindeer carousel with $2 rides. Just to reiterate, Santa photo packages start at $10. And that is how you have a fun holiday adventure at South Coast Plaza! This is our third year doing this and it is one of my favorite holiday excursions. Any questions? Drop them below!

I recently visited Ruby's inside South Coast Plaza Orange County and ordered the fish and chips. Overall, I had a positive experience. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was fun and nostalgic. However, the fish quality was not that perfect. The batter was a bit dry and overcooked. Despite the slightly subpar quality, I would still recommend Ruby's to anyone looking for a nice meal. The service and atmosphere were excellent, and the food was still enjoyable overall. I would just recommend asking for your fish to be cooked a bit less to avoid it being dry.
