Segerstrom has not failed me once. This is my first time back to the arts since the beginning of covid-19 March 2020 and may I say, "it has been a long 2+ years."
I received a mailer from Pacific Symphony and saw Mozart & Salieri performance. I just could not resist the symphony any longer. Being vaxxed and boosted and masking up gave me a reason to get tickets and enjoy some classical music once again.
We got our tickets and here we are again. Husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this performance. David Ivers as Salieri was amazing. If you are a fan of Amadeus the film you will have a chance to hear the recording of this performance August 14 on Classical California KUSC.
So, upon our arrival, we were checked in, i.e. vaccination card check then metal detector check. We collected our tickets at will call. All the staff were masked too so I had a good feeling about this. It goes to show they are taking everyone's health into consideration. Even the symphony was masked (when possible). Much appreciation.
In a long run this will be good for everyone. We cannot go without the arts. It is good for our mental well-being!
Anyway, the performance was outstanding. The quality of the show's content reached beyond my satisfaction and expectation. Thank you again!
We had dress circle seats and loved it. You cannot go wrong with any seats at the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall.
After the concert, Husband said, "I feel cultured." I totally agreed! We need to do this more often. Hope we can all stay safe and keep the arts alive...
Read moreThis is a beautiful Hall and the best chance to see top notch talent if you don't want to drive to La. However, in my opinion, the Acoustics are horrible and the seating is uncomfortable. I have complained about the sound system for years, and as my hearing continues to deteriorate with age, I have continued to attempt to use their headphone system. I tried again for the recent Wizard of Oz concert, and both the regular system and the telecoil system for my hearing aids were failures. The Head Usher was very nice about it, but I could not enjoy the concert. Compare this to my recent experience at the La Mirada Performance Center. There, the headphone system worked perfectly, and I could enjoy the West Coast premiere of Murder on the Orient Express. As a comparison, the sound system out South Coast Rep works perfectly, too, where we enjoy Christmas Carol annually. I hate to sound like a cranky old man, but I really wish the experience for this Hall was much much better. My rating is an average between my wife's...
