Amy's Chinese Kitchen — Restaurant in Cotati

Based on the reviews, we decided to give this place a try. We ordered the Peking dinner for three that came with hot & sour soup, egg rolls, fried chicken, pork fried rice, lemon chicken, orange chicken, and Mongolian beef.

It came with generous portions. We could feed six people with amount that was included.

However, the quality and flavor of the food was poor. The hot and sour soup lacked flavor and included several pieces of low quality tofu which didn’t do much to benefit it. The egg rolls were mushy inside. The lemon and orange chicken that came with it were exactly the same apart from one had too much lemon glaze and the other had too much orange glaze. Both had somewhat mushy battered chicken. The Mongolian beef and pork fried rice were decent, but not exceptional.

Remarkably great Chinese cuisine, not just food. Very fresh ingredients,clean-tasting sauces. Innovative use of shitaki and other mushrooms; delicious eggplant and tofu dishes; top quality chicken and beef, excellent vegetables such as green peppers, crisp bok choy, carrots, snow peas. Vegetarian egg rolls, sizzling rice soup, not greasy in any way. Great friendly enthusiastic and disciplined service from host Michael. Courteous takeout and prompt delivery. Surprising that such excellent food comes from this very clean but very plain space in a small strip mall; don't let the plain appearance fool you. I really do like this place but last night we went and got a takeout order paid cash and accidently gave them two hundred dollar bills that were stuck together and got back change for a hundred I was partially my fault and I know it but by now they know their drawer was heavy the question is what will they do? . Hoping that they figured it out when they counted the drawer and they are honest enough not to just pocket it. But nor gonna hold my breath Like I said I really do like this place so I hope it all works out because these days I have lost faith in most of humanity tho I really would like a reason to believe that they acknowlege it but the pessimist in me is thinking that being able to pay my rent is of little concern to anybody but me.
