Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Coventry

Extremely sub par customer service... Being mothers day weekend and all I thought I'd surprise my wife with her favorite... and I arrived at exactly 8:50 pm Saturday night (closing time is 9pm due to "THEIR GRAND BRAND STORE NEW OPENING"!!!) So I arrive and the doors are locked (store full with a half dozen employees) So I called and explained that I'm literally out front and would like to order a simple sandwich and smoothie and I was told that they "closed early "!!! I don't know maybe it's just me but I thought "closed at 9", meant 9, opposed to ten of 9?? Extremely disappointed and surprised because all of previous tropical smoothie experiences have all been positive and very pleasant!!! (But I guess maybe it was due to having visited other locations,opposed to this particular new Coventry one!!! "FOLKS JUST MAKE SURE YOU GET THERE ON TIME, which I'm guessing is at least 30 minutes before the posted closing time??? Before or if I choose to go I'll make sure to find out what the time differential is between the posted closing time and the exact "cutoff...

This place has gone downhill every since they replaced the staff from about 2 years ago. We have been disappointed with our orders ever since they got newer people. I don't know if they just don't care? On Christmas Eve, the employee didn't sound so thrilled. I get it. No one wants to work on a holiday. The smoothie was actually blended smoothly! Thank goodness because this has been an ongoing issue. My smoothie was tasteless, and the other one was alright. We used to love coming here. I went back because I got a gift card. Yesterday, we decided to use the rest of the balance at another location. & Yess!! The smoothies that we fell in love with. Haha. The people in Garden City should train those at this location. Everything was made well! We even got 2 sauces instead of one for the quesadilla. Sometimes, this location even forgets that. But, yes, flavorful and well blended smoothies! I guess we'll be going there...

I hate to do this - I travel the country for work, I often rely on places like tropical smoothie to get quick but somewhat healthy options vs the typical fast food chains. I stopped in recently and got a smoothie and chicken bacon ranch flatbread. While they hit the spot in the moment, I spent the rest of the night very sick. I didn’t eat anything else that day and felt great until I consumed the aforementioned. I’d rather not comment on who was working or whether they were friendly or not, I just want to make the establishment aware that something served had likely gone bad. In hindsight, from the moment I walked in until I ate and walked out, there was a consistent presence of fruit flies buzzing around.
