We love to eat breakfast out so we went to Crackle Barrel. We walked in and went straight to the counter, when all of a sudden this single guy jumped in front of us to get seated next in line. The hostess saw him do it, so we assumed she'd take of us first. But instead, she proceeded to ask questions about his party. (Keep in mind, this man raced to the hostess stand ahead of his party. And we had to wait for all of them to arrive before they were seated. Yet, we were standing there first, ready to go.) We spoke out and told the hostess that he jumped the line. She said she thought that what's she saw and said she would seat us. So we started walking behind her to be seated. She then stopped looked at us in a strange way and said, "you're next." It was so awkward and uncomfortable. So we waited for these line jumpers to be seated before we could be seated. There was zero apology or any comments made to us from this hostess for the confusion.
We ordered our food from Canada (who was an excellent server) and asked for the manager to let them know how the seating is being managed at the front door. Someone named Patty came to the table. She seemed very uninterested and was only concerned about moving on from the incident. She said she'd talk to the girl at the hostess stand. But there were two girls there. And she didn't even bother to ask who it was that was involved in the incident. Patty said she'd circle back to us later. But she NEVER did. There was a complete lack of accountability on the part of the employees for this incident. On our way out we stopped at the hostess stand again and the hostess lacked any awareness of the incident or that anything was even said to her. We asked to speak to "Patty" again. I understand she just needed to brush us off and dismiss our complaint. But, if restaurants continue to disrespect and disregard customer's concerns, all of the employees will be out of jobs, because you won't have any customers coming in or coming back. Customers have the choice of anywhere they choose. We chose to eat at this particular Cracker Barrel. We won't make that mistake again. Now, I see why more and more restaurants are using robots to deliver food and...
Read moreI have been to so many Cracker Barrels before but NEVER have I received the awful service I received here. Our waitress dropped some of our drinks on the table and did not apologize or grab napkins, instead proceeded to take our orders as if there wasn't a huge puddle of liquid on the table. If I didn't ask for napkins, she wouldn't have brought them. She also took so long to even bring the napkins out despite the situation at hand. I had to clean up the mess too. Mistakes happen and that's okay but she clearly didn't think anything was wrong with that nor did she offer to help clean up or even just offer an apology. When my mother was placing her order in perfect English, the waitress pretended not to understand a thing my mother was saying, and my mother was left confused thinking she had said the name of the plate wrong; there wasn't an "excuse me, I didn't catch that, will you repeat that please?" from the waitress - just a puzzled look as if my mother was speaking a foreign language to her despite everyone else at the table perfectly understanding my mother's order. She also didn't ask whether we wanted biscuits or corn muffins and just assumed and brought both. I asked if she could bring out more biscuits because we did not want corn muffins, and she just said she didn't know. It's something she would have known if she would have asked. I didn't even remember to tell her given how shocked I was that she was taking our orders while we were there about to get everything all over the table wet with the mess she had made. When she brought out the new biscuits, one of them looked like it had a bite taken out of it - disgusting. We did not touch it. While she continuously checked on other tables, she only checked on our table when we were basically done eating. I had to ask for a lemonade refill three times before it was finally brought out. It was such a frustrating experience because we were trying to have a nice dinner and just couldn't with the absolutely terrible service given. It's overall just awful when I recommend a spot and end up embarrassed by atrocious service. If you're looking for a spot to eat around this area, AVOID THIS...
Read moreI want to start off by saying my boyfriend and I absolutely loved Cracker Barrel. We discovered it a few years ago and it quickly became our absolute favorite restaurant. I even came here for my birthday dinner- thatâs how much I love it. The food was great and the price was awesome. However, our experience last night was very disappointing. The first disappointment of the night was finding out the menu changes. I always order the same exact thing- the sirloin, sweet potato, fries and broccoli. One of the things I loved about Cracker Barrel was that my meal came with THREE sides! I could choose all of my favorite sides and not compromise! However, they changed the kind of steak (to a NY strip), increased the price by a few dollars, AND now you can only get two sides. So the price went up, but the amount of food went down. I might as well go to Texas Roadhouse now since itâs the same price but better quality steak. It took 45 minutes for our food to come out. When it finally came out, my side order was incorrect, my steak was cold, and it was very chewy (which it never has been before). When I got my fries (the correct order), I asked our waiter for ketchup. The ketchup never came. I waited and waited, but they were getting cold, so I just ate them without it. I never even had an opportunity to ask again because I never saw our waiter until it was time for our check! Imagine if I waited for the ketchup to eat my fries, I wouldâve been waiting a solid 20 minutes. We also never got our rolls/corn bread. Again, we never even had an opportunity to ask until it was time for our check and by that time, we didnât want or care for them. Our waiter wasnât very good- like I said she never came by and asked if we needed anything, and only saw her ordering our food and getting our check. Paula made the night better by suggesting we try a Chunky candy bar- Paula, I liked it! She made the night end on a smile. Our experience really saddened me from the price increase but getting less food, the quality of the food, the âhotnessâ, and our service. Cracker Barrel really used to be our favorite place to eat, but now I donât know if...
