Im giving 4 stars for the SERVICE DESK PERSONNEL. I only go here for on line order pick up. The service desk people are great. Unfortunately, I have had several poor experiences with the rest of the store. Such as poor assistance (when they weren't ignoring me). And it is hit or miss with knowledgeable staff. UPDATE: June 7, 2021, read closely, save yourself money and aggravation. Home Depot does not honor problems with major appliances and they do not make sure you are aware of that when you are spending your money making a purchase. My wife and I bought a Frigidaire upright freezer and took delivery April 14, 2021, we also bought the 5 year protection plan. This unit got cold quickly and kept our food frozen well, and has a green light seen from the front near the floor with the door closed so you can see any issues happening. This past Saturday evening June 5, 2021 the freezer started making a beeping sound and the green light began blinking continuously. Obviously a problem. Opened the door and the temperature on the top two racks was 35 degrees. The lower racks hovering around 10 degrees and proceed to climb over the weekend. Yes, too much food for our refrigerator, some spoiled food. A quick check on Frigidaire's web site confirmed the need for help. We called Home Depot for assistance and were on hold for nearly 20 minutes before we were told someone would call us back. At the call back, we were informed that they can do nothing. This is a 7 week old freezer, bought their store website with a debit card. The money went to them Instantly and we get blown off. Not even an attempt to apologize for our problem, just a phone number to call. Period. I contacted Home Depot's main website and was informed that that is procedure and they can do nothing. Told me to contact the manufacturer. I had her repeat that again....could not believe this. A freezer less than two months old breaks down and we have to jump through hoops to find our next step. Home Depot suggested file a claim with our plan for service and the spoiled food. Actually said have a nice day. We contacted our plan, was told we cannot file a claim because of the manufacturer warranty. As for the claim for the food, they want us to supply documentation for the food. Really? Receipts for food bought over the course of 6 weeks? Good plan. Go to Best Buy and buy Samsung. My review is now 2 stars for my old experience with the service...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been going to this location for a long time. They've probably got the best customer service of any home depot (and most are pretty good). I appreciate that the store is always consistent with where everything is and how it's all laid out.
Lowe's is always changing everything around and I hardly ever get great service when I actually need help.
I don't need help often though. The app is fantastic. I search for whatever I need and it'll tell me what isle and bay it is in and how many are in stock. In the rare instance that I actually do need help the employees in North Kingstown never make you feel like you're a burdon. They actively ask how they can help when they see you instead of awkwardly staring until you speak up. If they don't know an answer they quickly find the person who does.
Even when you're just walking by and clearly don't need assistance they at least say a friendly "hello" if they catch eye contact. As a person who has spent his entire life in sales, restaurants, and customer service that means the world to me. It's a small gesture but it makes me feel they care.
The only thing I don't like is your Lumber. I use my local Lumber yard for all of that. I get much better quality for a similar price, and I'm supporting a local business.
Keep up the good work... And please don't ever get bought out by Lowes.... I hate that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAwful experience. One of their associates was helping me out looking for some exterior paint. Then all of a sudden one of the so called āmanagersā I believe his name was Brandon. Mr. Hot shot Brandon comes yelling at one of his employees who was just trying to do his job in helping me. So then Brandon tries helping me out and he gets me the wrong paint. I needed exterior paint not interior⦠I would not recommend going into this Home Depot very poor management and customer service.
Part 2 of review: So I went back to the Home Depot in Coventry for a car meet. My friends and I were looking to buy a shed. Then all I see is this Brandon so called āmanagerā storm out of the building and start telling us we need to leave the lot. Literally all we were doing is looking at the sheds.. If I could rate this store 0 stars I would. I would love to speak with Brandonās Manager and tell him the things he does to his employees and his local customers. Hopefully somebody will get back to me ASAP.
