I hadn’t been to Emerson’s Bakery in Latonia for about 30 years, and walking in today (August 23rd) in the afternoon brought back so many childhood memories. I could picture myself as a kid, tagging along with my mom to pick up my birthday cake. Those cakes were seriously amazing and honestly, they’re still what I think of first when I remember my childhood birthdays.

Today I grabbed some doughnuts and danishes, and wow, they’re just as good as I remembered. The person working there was really sweet too and complimented my shirt, which just made my day even better.

Emersons Latonia bakery was my very first job when I turned 16. I worked with Doris in the front and Erich was making donuts in the back. I have such fond memories of going to get hot donuts late at night back at the side door. The donuts I got today still tasted just as good as they did 30 years ago. The only complaints were the selection of donuts was very limited by the time i got there at 1:00 and then the girl working at the counter was very rude and dismissive to us and she threw my donuts in 4 different bags snd they were all stuck together. Also, I think we were overcharged and when I went back in to ask for the receipt she said she couldn't give me one. 30bucks for a dozen donuts and some macaroons.
