Well…. For almost 30 years I have done business here and used to enjoy taking our family out for supper here. The last 3 visits over the past couple of months have been less than desirable on take out. Being loyal customers we decided to load up and go to what once was one of our favorite restaurants to eat with our family. We once again had overcooked food which sucked. But, it was adding insult to injury to be charged a 3% fee on top of a $90 bill for a family dinner because we used a debit card. It’s 2022. When George was there the meals were always delicious and service always great. But, this nonsense on charging additional to patrons that use a bank card is beyond greedy and dumb in our era of time. Serving salads that looked 3 or 4 days old also sucked, I almost forgot to mention the cruddy lettuce. So, sadly what once was one of our favorites has now lost its magic and apparently does not value their customers. We don’t live in a cash only world. Money laundering operations are the only things that need that. I wouldn’t recommend the Town Grille in Cowpens anymore and I have loyally promoted it for almost 30 years. I hate to say it, they made no offer to correct the overcooked meal and relieve the 3% on an almost 100$ bill smh. That’s pathetic...
Read moreMaybe yesterday was just an "off" day but unless my mind changes this was our first and will be our last visit. First and foremost, the customer service was excellent. We ordered the beef souvlaki, a chicken melt plate, and sweet tea plus we took home a a slice of cheesecake. The food was piping hot when it came out, and the dinner fries, sweet tea, and cheesecake were good. However, the souvlaki had very little seasoning, and as it cooled down the tougher the meat became (like shoe leather), same thing with the chicken melt. The chicken tasted like it had been parboiled beforehand and then put on the grill with some onions and cheese; absolutely no seasoning whatsoever. I had to add salt, pepper, and ketchup (which I don't normally do) to make it palpable. As the sandwich cooled down, the tougher the chicken got!!! We ate the food without complaining but considering the prices compared to the quality and quantity, we will not be...
Read moreWhat a nasty place to eat a so called pizza. I passed by from a business trip from downtown Spartanburg and stopped to eat the so-called great pizza place in Cowpens. First thing when I opened the door. There was this Greek looking guy(owner)calling outload to customers and employees . The cooks seemed to don't even care. He was wearing long shorts and sandals with a dirty looking shirt on.The cook and his help was touching the food with bear hand and then touching there face like normal thing to them. no hat or hair net on, not even a apron on. I turn left side where the soda machine is and all I can see is dirty walls and dirty floors greasykitchen like never being cleaned i can't imagine how the inside kitchen looks like. I dont dont understand how the health department let them serve food. Service sucks just like the pizza they serve. I THINK I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO DIRTY TOWN...
