This was our first time going to Marchetti's Restaurant. My girlfriend and I always welcome an opportunity to try new restaurants we have not been to before. Although this place has reservations, we were immediately seated. The table itself was an open table, no bench seats to have to squeeze into. Our waiter, Michael Bina, was top notch. Very polite and friendly. He first started off asking what we would like to have for a drink. Of course, my girlfriend, Lori asked for a mango Margarita. I always ask for a mango Mai Tai. We asked for bread and butter. Michael stepped away to place our drink order and quickly appeared with our drinks. These drinks were not in a small cup, they were in a big cup. Michael returned with a basket of bread and butter and was ready to take our order. The menu had so much to choose from. I really was undecided. My girlfriend, Lori decided to get the meatballs and angel hair pasta. I decided to get the tortellini carbonara alfredo with shrimp. Michael took our order and returned to see how we were doing. We engaged in a pleasant conversation regarding the restaurant history and to get to know who our server is. Again, he was very polite and fun to talk to. Our food arrived and both Lori and I were overwhelmed by how large the plate of food was. We are definitely not complaining. The tortellini were cooked to perfection. I did not eat one piece of pasta that was under cooked or overcooked. The alfredo sauce was simply delicious, and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. Lori got the meatballs and angel hair. I tied a piece of the meatball and was very tasty. Not undercooked, not red in the middle, very moist and delicious. The angel hair pasta was also freshly cooked. The meal, drinks, and customer service were truly worth the trip to Marchetti’s. The bill for the meal and drinks was still under $80 considering how large the plates were and we had drinks. We did have a lot of left over, enough for 2 more meals. We gave Michael a 30% tip for excellence service. I am looking forward to our next trip to Marchetti’s. Ignore the one meatball, that disappeared quickly before I took the picture. The dish came with...
Read moreMarchetti’s was my favorite restaurant from a very young age. Pretty much as soon as I could drive I was coming to this place to get pink vodka chicken parm as often as I could afford. I went as far as to date a guy who worked here for a summer! I once accidentally took ketamine (a story for a different review), and the only place I wanted to come was here. During the pandemic, I met my boyfriend who wasn’t raised here and had never tried marchettis. WHAT!! I waited until Valentine’s Day, post pandemic, to take him so we could experience it together. To say it was a horrible experience was an understatement. Food drowning in oil, seated on a cold and crammed patio, everything was under or over cooked, service was horrible, even the fishy smell of the restaurant almost made my boyfriend vomit. We swore off marchettis, which destroyed me as I loved this place. Recently, a friend convinced me to go back after telling him that they went downhill after the pandemic. He somehow, convinced me to go. Well, you can imagine that was a great experience because I’ve been back many times since! I even introduced my eight year old to marchettis for the first time last night, and the combination of the food, as well as our amazing server Mariah who made my daughters entire night, she decided her new favorite restaurant was marchettis also. The reason I’m writing this review is: if you swore off marchettis after the pandemic like I did, thinking they had went down the drain - give it another shot. You’ll be...
Read moreI spend a-lot of money here . My co workers at National Grid/Rhode Island Energy referred me to this place.I actually loved it here so much that i put aside the uncomfortable attitude and treatment from a specific male waiter who is older and gives very much racist. But the other waiters I have had have been great and over shadowed his ignorance .Not to many of my ethnic background comes here but again i brush that off I am from DC where there is a mixture or people and the atmosphere is different and refreshing but again I know in new England its different at certain places. Today I did not feel comfortable nor did I feel like the customer service from the manager was acceptable. That same make waiter also came over and was very rude and sarcastic but I have alot to loose so I kept myself calm.I literally paid for my drink and left didn't even want the food anymore and STILL left a tip for the waiter despite how I felt. I am disappointed and will be doing a tik tok and Instagram story time regarding my experience what ever attention I can bring to it as a DJ and will also speak with my colleagues whom visit and gather here. More than anything my feelings are hurt and again I am disappointed not even angry. The looks and the obvious negativity from the employees standing to the right whom grilled me until i left was also very uncomfortable. But you know what GOD...
