Recently we've traveled a great deal and we have made it a point to eat at least one Waffle House on our trips. The biggest issue at any of them has always been their cleanliness. Usually dust stuck to oily surfaces, corroded built up from obvious neglect. I've seen food trampled on, walked through and even kocked under the kitchen areas. There's almost always grease grime showing on and around the cooking surfaces too. Growing as the time goes by without a regular deep cleaning regimen that used to be required in the food industry. I spent many years learning and then working with and instructing new managers, assistant managers, along with hands on crews in many different chains of the food industry. Then it seems, it's just not as important, anymore. Then we came here. And here, you can see that it matters! Here, you can see they understand how it's supposed to be kept and how it's suppose to be operated. They are super efficient, very professional, properly operating as far as everything that I could see. They were respectful and quickly took the orders, proceeding to serve the food, just as quickly. The cleanliness of this facility far exceeds any I've been to across the state! Whoever trained these workers deserve a District Mangers position, so as to ensure there to be many more of these successful locations. In my personal opinion, of course. I have to say that I do not know any of the employees there and I have no known relation to any of them. It's just that there is always so many negative perspectives everywhere we turn and it, when it does happen that something is so right, we owe it to...
Read moreThe food is great, the employees are great, and the vibe is great; but local management has a lot of growing to do.... The District Manager, Kyrsten, was very unprofessional in her conduct with me. I'm also not a fan of how often the Waffle House, Inc raises their prices- a "temporary per egg surcharge"... Really? Yet it takes them years to raise employee wages; I've never seen temporary wage increases due to inflation, have you?!
I would go here more often if they implemented a bike rack outside. Multiple employees at this location utilize bicycles, but the state of the infrastructure makes it challenging and unsafe to reach this Waffle House via bicycle, it's really sad that Waffle House seemingly isn't working with the local government to address this. This may be a highway WH, but it's staffed by residents of Crestview, it should be more accessible.
I would also encourage Waffle House corporate to include more native plants and shade in store lots, as well as solar panel systems to power the store, cars, and more.
LGBTQ+ Customers| Restrooms are single-use, private rooms, and both are wheel-chair accessible, though the area may be kind of tight and awkward to maneuver. Generally, the staff here are welcoming, and I haven't heard of significant issues, though the company is not explicitly LGBTQ+ friendly. Assert your pronouns if wait-staff assume incorrectly. As a former employee... The local management chain (from store manager to Area Vice President) tolerates LGBT+ employees, but they don't...
Read moreMy family and I came in last night. I usually cringe when my family requests Waffle House. The establishment was busy and there were minimum places to sit. We took a seat at the bar. Despite the hustle and bustle we were greeted with a warm “welcome to Waffle House” from 3 individuals. Caitlyn who was punching out food like crazy. I’m surprised she had time to breath let alone welcome another set of four mouths she knew she was about to feed. I was super impressed that she had every grill, waffle maker, and toaster going at one time and still presented us with one of the best Waffle House meals I have had. I believe The young man taking care of us was Ryan. He seemed to be a jack of all trades helping with food prep, flipping tables and still managed to keep our beverages filled and our order on point. Excellent service! Super hospitable! The bathrooms were probably the cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever seen in a Waffle House. I have two small children so we visit the bathroom often during a dining experience. My family and I will be going back for sure! So thankful that it is so...
