Very disappointed with everything that my family and I ordered... we ordered the biggest Botana plate they have..The meat, chicken, and shrimp was cold. The rice was nice from the bottom, but hard on top (under cooked) (like it was left on the hot lamp) the waiter asked if we wanted it heated up or for it to be re-cooked.. we said "yes can you please re-cook the whole dish" ... And then the waiter wanted me to believe that it was all cold because it was on a bed of lettuce.. Haaa!!! .. it would have been at least warmish if that was the case .. but no it was ice cold . Smh..Then he comes back with half the plate because they just popped the same plate in the microwave and brought it out back to us.. this is a $30+ dollar plate, remind you.. (which was NOT the problem) but that plate I feel should have come out spectacular!!!.. (avocado with dark spots) The plates of the people next to is and in front of us came out sizzling hot.. But because ours came on a bed of lettuce they thought it was okay to give us old and cold meat..and then we called the manager over and the only thing he kept doing was making up excuses for the incident.. instead of acknowledging the MISTAKE and correcting it.. but thank God for Peppers restraunt down the road !!! They took care of us so much and actually cared about their QUALITY of food and service...within 10 mins or so all our food came out perfect and not COLD..and our waiter Rafa was awesome in every way possible.. please don't waste your time and money here.. way not worth it...

My wife and I came March 22,2024 around 7pm. While traveling on S.R 85 we saw the La Rumba sign with 2 for 1 deal on drafts and margaritas so we were like welp we’re hungry let’s check it out. The parking lot was very packed but we walked inside expecting a wait and to our shock they sat us right down and greeted us with a tortilla chips, black beans and salsa. Those beans were the bomb. I ordered the 2 for 1 deal which is 2 32 Oz draft beers for 10.99 so honestly it’s a great deal. My wife ordered a fruity drink which was pretty good but the price was the same as mine so I don’t think we’ll get that next time but it was tasty. Now for the start of the show we had birra tacos and I had the supreme enchiladas. Both were very tasty and probably the best birra tacos you can order in the area. I wish the enchiladas came with rice like most other Mexican restaurants but it is what it is. After all said and done we got seated at 702 and was out of the door at 739pm the food was served fresh hot and ready beyond fast and our waitress was very friendly and loved her service. We’ll be back again to try more meals thank you

We started with the chips, guacamole, and cheese dip, and right away it set the tone. The dips were cool and thick, but the chips were a total letdown…stale, heavy, and just plain lifeless. Fresh, crisp chips would’ve made all the difference, but these fell flat. For the main course, I tried the carne sope, and unfortunately, it didn’t redeem the experience. The asada had no depth of flavor..it was chopped so small it felt more like ground beef than a proper cut. Definitely underwhelming for something that should’ve been the star of the plate. The atmosphere didn’t help either. Staff in the back were loud enough to distract from the meal, and while the service wasn’t outright rude, it was curt and gave the impression that our being there was more of an inconvenience than anything else. Overall, the food lacked flavor, the chips lacked freshness, and the service lacked warmth. Not the kind of spot I’d be excited to revisit.

Unfortunately the better of 2 Mexican restaurants here. Usually mediocre, last night horrible. Was national margarita night, the place was FULL of obnoxious, extremely loud drunks, had to put in earplugs to even think straight.

I had to wait 20 minutes for a booth that had not been cleaned. Placed my order at 6:45 pm and asked my server to wipe my table. At 7:20 still had not received either. All the time with a table of 8 drunks yelling right beside me, staring at me, and a couple of times thought they were gonna start fighting.

I finally got up to find a manager as I had not seen my server. The only person to talk to was a “key holder” , Alfredo, who immediately began making excuses for the noise. I told him I was more concerned about my order. I had to ask for a discount for my trouble. Was given 10% off which amounted to 65 cents, yes, 65 cents. He tried to blame it all on the waiter who told me she had no pens to write my order with because they had all been stolen from her earlier in the shift.

When my food finally arrived my order was wrong, so told the server I expected them to take the incorrect item off my bill. The “key holder” came back over and told me that was not possible, but I would get the 65 cents off. Upon receiving my bill from him NOTHING had been taken off, but he kept insisting that it had. NO ONE is that stupid. My bill normally would have been $6.89, as it was $6.50 combo night and that was what he said it was after it had been discounted. What a liar!

Today I called there and left a message for the manager to call. He never did.

Mediocre, non-authentic Mexican and NO CUSTOMER...

La Rumba is one of the only restaurants in this area that serves true Mexican dishes.

The food tastes as if it's straight from Mexico. The drinks are phenomenal. They offer margaritas, served in a fish bowl glass that is buy one get one free, and absolutely delicious.

This is the perfect place to have a birthday dinner. The entire staff of this restaurant joins together with a large sombrero, putting it on the head of the person who is celebrating their birthday , and are very festive in the way that they sing Happy Birthday. Providing free dessert. Making everyone feel very much involved in the celebration.

It's a great restaurant, but it's always been quite loud. Everyone that works in the kitchen, preparing dishes, can be heard from any part of the dining room. The staff are very friendly, but are also very much in a hurry. They take your order, make sure you're taken care of, and get you out as quickly as possible. I wouldn't recommend eating here if you're interested in a serious or private conversation with whomever you're attending with. You will likely not be able to hear the person that is sitting across the table from you, forcing you to raise your voice to be able to conversate.

With the factor of the staff being extremely quick to get you in and out. Along with the noise level of this restaurant, I've given it 3 stars.

The food is worth these few issues with the restaurant, if you are looking for authentic...
