Mug's Pizza & Ribs — Restaurant in Crystal Lake

I will never place another order from Mugs again. There was not a single thing I ordered that was right. I ordered beef sandwiches that were supposed to be dry and they were so soggy that when you tried to pick them up the bottom fell apart, the pizza was also not just soggy but undercooked, ordered the cheesecake and was given the chocolate chip one, ordered pop that was warm. Called to let them know and they said they would put a full credit on my account for next time, but when I called two weeks later they said there was no record of a credit and would not honor it, per owner. Needless to say Mugs will never be getting another order from my family and me. Tip to the manager - if you want your paying customers to come back you need to make it right when they didn’t get what they were supposed to and paid for with their money. Otherwise they’re not going to place another order. My family and I used to tell everyone to order from Mugs, but now when someone asks for a place to order food from the response that is given is to order from anywhere else other than Mugs and that getting a frozen pizza from a grocery store would be better because at least you know what you’re going to be getting and paying for with your hard...

I moved to the McHenry area a few months ago and have had a hard time adjusting to the food options coming from where I used to live. I lived in the heart of the city where any and everything you wanted was available. I had a few places recommended to me and one thing I learned is that those living in the Chicago burbs don't know good pizza. I work on Crystal Lake and I seen Mugs one day and wondered if it were the same one I had in Des Plaines before. Sure enough it was. I wasn't expecting much because I didn't try any of their other locations. This location absolutely exceeded all expectations. The pizza is as close as you will get to true Chicago pizza. I have family that is gluten free and they said the GF pizza here was the best they ever had. Mugs later told us they use s separate oven to prevent contamination of GF products. The ribs are excellent! Better than the portillos ones we ordered. This place is so good it is a must for when our family visits from the city. True Chicago pizza lovers will love the hand tossed pizza and the ribs are incredible. Don't hesitate to order those items here. Prices are great also. I only wish they delivered to my home in McHenry hut the drive I make for pickup is worth it every...

I went last night with my friend Kyle Cosgray. Five stars cannot even begin to capture the magnificence of Mugs! The pizza was pretty good but I only really went there for the shrimp basket; and it did not disappoint! I recommend sending a scouting party first to see if they are handing out 30s as they come in quantities of 20-30. I highly recommend the shrimp basket. The pizza was pretty good but I like the shrimp basket even more! It was very delicious and the breading was good. I do not recommend the spaghetti, it isn't bad but your better off getting the shrimp basket, it is very good (especially if you can get 27-30 shrimp per basket). I found that asking for a little extra shrimp goes a long way. Do not let the name fool you, Mug's Pizza is better known for their shrimp basket, I highly recommend the shrimp basket. If you are contemplating takeout here I would highly encourage ordering a yummy shrimp basket! And just because the pizza is in the mug's name doesnt mean no shrimp... it is very good! get pizza and shrimp basket its good. I like shrimp basket...
