Charleston Cafe — Restaurant in Cudahy

After picking up a couple orders from this place I am impressed every time with how just plain amazing everything that comes out of that kitchen is. My most recent order (that prompted me to go write this) was 2 Ham, Egg & Cheese breakfast sandwiches, a Flapper, cup of baked potato soup, a caramel frozen latte & a strawberry banana smoothie.

Everything was delicious, nothing but praise all around my kitchen table, and the Flapper's popularity is well deserved. Every interaction with the staff has been wonderful, any problems they've had are either understandable or so minor its been of little to no consequence to my satisfaction as a customer.

I've yet to experience their outdoor patio but regardless the place itself is beautiful, the mix of an older style while still giving off a vibe of modernity, yet somehow not being out of place with the assumed 20's/classical theme. And then there's the penny floor, I assume this was a DIY part of making this place as I can't imagine who would take on such a job, let alone what they would charge, the sheer balls one must posses to attempt such a thing, and the fact it came out as well as it did is incredibly impressive.

All in all I wish the staff/family all the best with this place, they're good people with great food and a wonderful establishment, if they can start it off this good, I'll be excited to see...

I just moved into the area and was looking for cafes I could meet friends for lunches or come in for work and study time. And this place popped up on my Google search. The website was very clean and organized and the options were well thought out. A great place for conscious healthy eaters ! My first time I came in with a friend and the cashier suggested the everything burrito. Let’s just say I’ve been addicted to it ever since ! My next visit I brought another friend. Jeff particularly stood out to us both. His customer service was welcoming and friendly and you could tell he really gave a (swear word) about how the brand was communicated to the customers ! He gave us punch cards to encourage our future visits and was right there when anything extra was needed. Always bringing it right over and not letting us get up to retrieve it. He really made our day! This kind of atmosphere the phenomenal food and the personal and very friendly service I have received at this place each time has definitely made Charleston Cafe one of my weekly top picks for a place to eat and relax. I can’t wait until the patio opens for the summer. Please give this place a try. I don’t think you will...

So, their coffee is good. It´s just everything else that´s the problem. We´ve been there a few times and sometimes the service is... okay. They are very disorganized with taking orders and making drinks. It seems like there´s usually a couple of people floating around (seemingly not doing much, just talking to customers and whatnot) while one person frantically attempts to make the drinks. The person taking orders usually flies over to help with drinks in between orders. I went there today and it wasn´t particularly busy, a few other people were there. My partner ordered their drink (an iced coffee that she got instantly), then I ordered an iced coffee with almond milk and waited eighteen minutes. After eighteen minutes, I asked about my drink. The cashier asked me what my drink was... Then, proceeded to tell me that they ran out of iced coffee. The people behind me had already gotten their lattes and smoothies a few minutes before I even asked. I would not recommend going here unless there is NO ONE ELSE there. It´s really sad because I was hoping a place like this was going to open up in our neighborhood. The service is just too awful...
