Went here for Mother’s Day with some friends. I ordered grilled chicken it was not very good. My wife ordered a soft taco - got a hard taco instead- tried to send it back but our waiter did not understand there was a problem due to a language barrier - it never did get resolved. This also came into play again when I asked for a side order of flour tortillas...three times... again we had a failure to communicate because his English was as bad as my Spanish...My kids ordered a soft taco and a quesadilla and didn’t eat more than one bite of each...I’ve had worse but not much worse. One of the other people In our party also could not stomach choking down his burrito. Also it was pretty expensive for what you get.
I know it’s probably a petty gripe but the server refilled our drinks by getting another cup filled with soda and pouring a little in everyone’s glass to top off. It was probably from a clean cup and practically isn’t any different than using a pitcher but struck me as less than professional.
Immediately following lunch we went to Wendy’s for drive through for the kids. Hands down the worst meal I’ve had in Cullman which is surprising since every other meal save one has been remarkably good. I wish we had gone to Moe’s SW Grill instead- not as fancy but much higher quality and the employees there don’t suffer from a language barrier. The music was a little on the deafening side which probably didn’t impact our failure to communicate with the waiter but also didn’t make conversation with others at the table feasible except to the person directly next to you. If the food was good I wouldn’t complain about the music but since I’m on a roll...I figured I’d paint a more...
Read moreI was traveling through with my 5 year old and chose this place because we don’t eat dairy or meat - so Mexican is usually easy enough.
I get us bean burritos, avocado and rice.
However this experience went poorly.
For starters, my waiter didn’t seem to understand me.
I tried asking for some red chili sauce on the side (for my burrito) but he said they didn’t have red sauce.
I thought to myself “what kind of Mexican food place doesn’t have red sauce!?”
There was a hair in my salsa that was brought with chips.
My water tasted like dirt.
I’m not exaggerating or making it up.
I’ve never tasted such a strong dirt after taste from my water before, let alone from a restaurant.
So I asked for tea, it was WAY too sweet… but to be fair - it is Alabama.
When the food arrived he had smothered my 5 year olds burrito with some salsa - apparently he took my question for red sauce on the side for my burrito to mean that I wanted it on hers? She wouldn’t touch it.
So I ate her burrito and gave her mine.
The tortilla was rubbery, and the beans had strange seasoning. Not in a good way.
We left with upset tummies and my daughter said “I feel like my stomach wants to come out” (it made her nauseous).
I had a really bad experience here.
Not to mention the bill for just myself and my child was $35.
I wish I had just handed them money and walked out, would have saved us some stomach...
Read moreHigh Hopes for this place walking in. The experience however was obscene. The steak on the fajitas had an apparent odor of stench. The waitress, very nice, came by to check on me. I told her about it and that I didn't want it that I was just going to decline it and pay for my drink and chips. She said she was going to talk to the manager. She came back and said the manager could do nothing. I haven't touched a bite of it mind you. I felt the manager himself should have addressed me personally. So, I asked her to tell him I wanted to see him. I told him what you just read and he flat out denied it. Saying it was fine that customers had no problem all day. I literally had to pay for a meal I didn't eat. That is the meat and potatoes of my experience. A couple more things not so major I guess. I was excited to see on the menu that the meats for the fajita's were cooked on a flame broiler. When I received it, clearly was not. I asked the waitress and she then said that it is cooked on a flat top. There was another misrepresentation on the menu. I cant remember exactly but I think it was tomatoes that were to go on the fajitas according to the menu but also did not. The waitress was aware of the outdated menu and stated so. Positives, decor on inside is cool, salsa and chips was good not the best but average. Cons, disrespectful supervisor and spoiled...
