Good food horrible TO-Go service. I travel the state and do many catering and pick up orders with Jim & Nicks and never have one as bad is this one. I cringe when my offices in the area request Jim& Nicks. While waiting on my food I hear an earful from other customers as well. And yes I have called and spoken to the managers a few times and no change. So what to expect Your food will never be ready on time. I now put my time as 10/20 minutes before I really need to pick it up. Today said 11:20 and I got it 11:40. Needed at 11:30 though. Something will always be missing. I usually catch some of it but like today caught that service utensils were missing but missed that dressing was missing. Also the ice was missing but I didn’t push that because it took decent amountnof time to get serving utensils. Rarely ever greeted or asked if picking up to go. Evertime Im there someone asks me if know what to do. Also you have to get the girls attention and make sure she rings you up or you may just be waiting forever. The TO-Go person is never the same.
I’ve mentioned to the to go person that maybe the other staff can help with at least greeting the customers or bringing some of the food out because they always seem very frazzled. She explained to me that each person has their own job and they’re not supposed to help with the other jobs. HMMM weird right
I could go on and on. If someone from the restaurant cares and is listening a few suggestions. Go back to the bartender doing to go orders. All the other ones I deal with except one use the bartender and it works like a charm. Have a checklist with each to go order and make sure everything is in there in front of the customer (maybe use runner to do this part and bartender to ring up customers etc) I worked in many restaurants through school- EVERY single one of them required us to be a team. It did not matter if it was your tables food if it was hot and you were standing there you brought it out to the table. If a customer walked in and needed assistance you greeted them if hostess not there and directed them to the right place or ket them know hostess would seat them soon- then...
Read moreThis was an initial visit to this Jim 'N Nick's. I have eaten at a number of their other locations so I do have a basis for comparison.
The food and service at this location was excellent.
Our server, Melanie, greeted us with a big smile. That is a small thing but it does make a difference. We were tired from walking, it was hot outside, and a friendly greeting from a pleasant person shortly after we walked in was a pleasant occurrence.
And, as it turns out, the service throughout the meal was outstanding. She ensured our glasses of water or iced tea were refilled consistently, inquired if our order arrived as it should, if we needed anything else and even volunteered to provide iced tea to go. No doubt, a server with this enthusiasm and a friendly nature is a big asset to any business that serves the public.
The food was excellent.
The cheese biscuits were our initial introduction to the restaurant. They were cooked to perfect. The biscuits in this chain are often overdone and dry as a result. These were not overdone. We ate all six of the biscuits as they were so tasty.
I ordered BBQ pork with a potato. I have had this dish on numerous occasions. The potato in this case was the biggest potato I have ever seen. It was filled with the BBQ pork I had ordered and the meat was cooked perfectly. It was moist and had plenty of flavor. I could not eat the entire potato at one seating. (See the photo to accompany this review).
The salad ordered by another person in our party was fresh, made up exactly as ordered, and also a very large portion. The lettuce and vegetables were fresh and crunchy as they should be.
My other dining companion ordered a BBQ pork sandwich with onion rings. As with the potato, the meat was perfect. Moreover, the onion rings were served with a light brown breading, a large onion inside, and apparently had a great taste.
So, a first visit to this Jim 'N Nicks was outstanding. Our thanks to the entire staff here, and especially to the person we interacted with the most during the meal, Melanie, for contributing to making this visit...
Read moreMy family and I decided to eat here for the first time yesterday for dinner. Our experience was okay ( not bad and not good). We felt like we were ignored for several minutes before someone realized we were waiting to be seated! Once we were seated the waitress brought us the menus and told us she would be right back. Several minutes later ( long enough that we had time to decide what we wanted to eat). She finally came back to take our drink order I told her we were also ready to place our food order. It took several more minutes before our drinks arrived to our table. The food came out fairly quick which was a nice surprise. Portions were excellent even on the kids menu. My ribs were okay nothing special! Definitely not a fan of the bbq sauce that I requested on the side. Onion rings and fries were outstanding. My son loved his chicken fingers! My bf liked his catfish and baked beans. However he didn't like his side of coleslaw! To be honest it didn't even look very appealing when they brought it to the table. It looked like just shredded up cabbage. But he loves coleslaw and decided to try it anyway. He said " it had no taste, very bland, and definitely did not taste like what you expect coleslaw to taste like". Our waitress ended up taking off $5 from the bill which was nice, but didn't really seem to want to listen about why the side didn't taste right. She occasionally came by to refill our adult teas, but not once did she refill our son's tea! Not once did she even ask if he still had plenty of tea! I ended up having to share my glass of tea with him because he ran out of something to drink! It's a dang shame that my four year old asked me " wheres my refill" and the waitress is no where to be found to get him a refill. But yet as soon as we are done eating here she comes with the check. Trying to rush us out the door ( when our son was still trying to finish his meal!) Definitely our first and last time ever...
