UPDATE: So, I decided to give RT restaurant (not the brewery side) another try this morning for breakfast. It was awful. Here's the breakdown. The first thing you notice when walking into a restaurant shouldn't be how incredibly greasy and slippery the floor is. It was disgustingly greasy. I ordered coffee which came out five minutes later barely warm. It took another 10 minutes and me asking where my coffee was for a normal cup to appear. I ordered the Country "Skillet" breakfast. It was probably the worst breakfast I've ever been served at a restaurant. First, it's supposed to be a skillet, that means HOT. It was a mixture of barely warm flavorless ground sausage, some potatoes, drowning in a watery gravy, two eggs (properly cooked), and then...unbelievably...topped with shredded cheddar cheese. Not melted cheddar cheese as every other breakfast skillet in the world, just a pile of plain shredded cheddar. I sent it back and got the veggy skillet. Again, not a skillet and just a mixture of some veggies, potatoes warmed up on a grill put on a plate (okay, a deep plate), and topped with two eggs. It was just edible. Now portion size of the "skillet". It was tiny. The smallest "skillet" breakfast I've ever had. And finally the service. Although my waitress was trying her best, the restaurant was so understaffed she never offered me a coffee refill and when I asked for jelly for my biscuit (which should have been brought out anyway), it took her 5 minutes to get it to me, by which time I'd eaten 3/4 of my biscuit and breakfast (another sign the restaurant was understaffed was the number of tables that needed cleaning). So in the end, I spent $17.40 (including tax and tip) for a tiny, mediocre breakfast, in a greasy understaffed restaurant. One final note. the brewery side of this business is a completely different story. The beer is outstanding and the service good.
Original review: Chicken fingers were very good and worth a solid four stars except three chicken fingers (2 large and one small) for over $8 is a terrible value..and the fries don't count since they cost...
Read moreI had gone to Tanners before they moved and I had always wanted to go back, so I decided to finally go with my two brothers. Now, I'm not really sure why I was so excited to go back. We got chips and skillet queso for an appetizer, which was delicious, but the chips were slightly stale and there weren't nearly enough for the bowl of queso. I got a bacon cheddar burger and mac and cheese, which was just okay. Service was slow even for a Thursday and we all almost constantly has no drink for 5-10 minutes, which was bad for one of my brothers who got hot wings. Our food didn't take unreasonably long, but the wait was not enjoyable due to the noise. Which brings me to...
It was also very loud. It wasn't so bad when we got there, but the live music that started soon after we got there was loud which made everyone in the restaurant talk loud, so it was hard to have a conversation. It was also VERY cramped. Our table was way too small, and waitresses were constantly scooting by us. By the time I was halfway done with my burger, I was very ready to go. The only part of our service that wasn't slow was when it was time to pay,. Once we got our checks, we were signed and out in two minutes.
Overall, maybe a tavern-type place isn't really my style. We all agreed that the food could be better, and that it was just not that great of an experience. I highly doubt I'll be back unless I know it...
Read moreThis was my first visit, and I will say..the beer was good. There was a good selection and the stouts were very creative and delicious. When we arrived we sat on the patio. After about 5 minutes, no one had been by to take our drink order. I went inside thinking maybe we were supposed to order at the bar. The bartender told me that someone would come to the table and take our order. It was another 15 minutes before anyone came to our table to ask what we wanted. There were quite a few servers working, but they stood at other tables talking for 10+ minutes and then walked right past us, ignoring our attempts to get their attention. When we finally got someone to take our order, part of it was wrong/never even entered. Unfortunately, it was another 15 minutes before anyone came to our table to check in so we ended up closing our tab with just drinks and leaving. I waited tables through college so I understand being understaffed, but that wasn’t the problem tonight. There were plenty of servers who gave excellent attention to people on the patio who appeared to be “regulars”. IF you’re a regular, I’m sure this place is phenomenal. Otherwise, be prepared for the worst...
