Went back here a couple of months after my last visit and noticed the prices seemed even higher this time. Since they use an iPad menu, I guess they can change prices anytime. The lady working last night was welcoming and brought the food quickly, but I had forgotten how expensive this place felt. When I asked for to-go boxes, she came back with just one styrofoam container which felt a bit stingy for the amount of food we had. She seemed oddly hesitant about giving to-go containers, which made it a little awkward. The restaurant was completely empty, which at first made me think they were closed. We got a Coke, no ice:), a taco dinner, a burrito plate, and queso, and the price was honestly unreasonable compared to other restaurants. Overall, the food isn’t bad, but it feels overpriced and awkward about simple things like to-go boxes, which makes me not want to come back. On a positive note, I hope they reconsider their pricing and are more generous with to-go boxes. It would be nice if they just offered enough containers for the amount of food instead of making it feel like everything queso, burrito, taco, beans, rice, chips, and salsa for a party of 2 had to be crammed...
Read moreWe recently visited this restaurant under its new ownership, and I was impressed with the revamped menu. The staff was friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience. We tried the Malibu Sunset cocktail, which was refreshing and perfectly balanced.
For appetizers, the Maduros (sweet plantains) were a delightful start. We ordered the Vera Cruz Shrimp as my entrée, and it was flavorful with a great balance of spices. My dining partner had the Pollo Campesino, which was also delicious.
One thing to note: they don’t serve the typical chips and salsa you might expect at other Mexican restaurants, but that wasn’t a drawback. The quality of the dishes more than made up for it.
A complimentary dessert was offered for our first visit which was delicious.
While the prices are a bit on the higher side, the overall dining experience and food quality make it...
